On a brochure, Kithrion Island Private Academy looks like heaven on Earth. It's the type of place that no one can resist, as long as they have the money to sponsor such an education. The academy is located on an exclusive and beautiful island. There are crystal clear streams and perfectly green foliage wherever you look. There are sandy-white beaches and hills to hike up. And if the Mediterranean scenery still doesn't manage to persuade you, then perhaps the fact that it's summer practically the whole year will. It's beautiful. It's prestigious. It's perfect.

You expect me to say something about how the rich kids there are snobbish and spoilt and all the bitch-fights that occur?

Well, yes, but that's only a small percentage of the problem.

You see, those in the 'know' don't think of it as the prestigious Kithrion Island Private Academy, they think of it as Dark Shadows Academy, a school for kids who're just a little bit...weird. Fine, not just a little bit. It's a school for kids who have strange abilities, and the environment that Dark Shadows provides is meant to harness these abilities and make these children tomorrow's leaders.

Now we jump back to the spoilt rich kids factor. After all, they may be different from their peers, but they're the same as the crowd at any other boarding school. With the contingent the same, so are the setbacks. Because even if their body's doing something odd, they're still teenagers.

Expect the parties, the drinking, the boy/girl drama... Expect the cramming, the studying, the homework... But at Dark Shadows Academy, you ought to learn one thing....

expect the unexpected
