am i the only sour cherry on the fruit stand?![]() Here in the streets of American nights Rise to the bottom of the meaning of life welcome to new york city, the city that never sleeps. despite of the traffic and fire escapes, the city still lives and manages to floruish. home to millions and millions of people of all shapes, sizes, and colors, it's bound to have it's ups and downs. like every other city, you're bound to cross paths with both colorful and shady characters. a tourist attraction like no other, every street corner has its own story. you're just as likely to stumble upon a cultered street corner as you are to find a CHASE bank or STARBUCKS. of course, new york city isn't only a home for culture and history of all sorts, it's also a mecca for fashion and entertainment. from times square and rockefeller center in manhattan to the clubs and restaurants in soho, the city's always vibrant and full of life. when walking down the street, one can almost feel the city streets breathing, just as lively as their inhabitants. but new york city isn't just full of life, oh no. it's a good place for gossip, too. fashion, entertainment, world news and celebrity scandals. the perfect ingredients to make a a magazine successful, no? thus, our story begins. welcome to the world of METRO magazine, one of the top dogs in the fashion magazine industry. run by a no-nonsense staff and with cut and dry headlines, METRO earned itself a reputation as one of the most cutthroat and earnest magazines out there. of course, the title's not entirely without merit. in a dog-eat-dog industry like this, it's very easy to miss a step. one day a promising magazine can go from flourishing and flying off of the news stands to hanging up that "OUT-OF-BUSINESS" in front of the building. it's not particularly easy, and having headquarters stationed in the heart of times square doesn't exactly make it cake. but despite hidden agendas and inter-office drama, something's gotta give. it's gonna take quite a bit to run this magazine out of business. and, oh boy, do they welcome you to try. not for the faint of heart, you've never experienced journalism quite like this. not quite sure what kind of show we're trying to run? think of it this way, think "the devil wears prada." not much different from Lauren Weisberger's work of genius, you've got the same fast-paced, "get it done yesterday" kind of environment, only with a bit more fun thrown in there. Studied all the rules didn't want no part But I let you in just to break this heart |
