[The title of this post is sarcasm, obviously... >_> ...also, let me just say that this is my attempt to be active on VSC again. I visit the site every day but am too lazy to post!]

So for those of you who have a facebook, you may have known that was I went on Spring Break last week (and just got back 2 days ago). My trip was to an oceanfront hotel down near Myrtle Beach, SC, and I stopped off on my way down in Fayetteville, NC for a night.

Anyway, on my way back to New Jersey from South Carolina, I was driving in North Carolina (close to the border of NC and SC) and my car randomly started to shake, so I try to get from the far left lane of I-95 North to the right lane. As I get in the right lane, I look the the side to see my tire rolling towards the woods on the side of the road. As I realized that one of my tires wasn't on my car as I was going atleast 65 mph, the car titled forward and started to shake violently and spark like crazy. I got into the shoulder as fast as I could and tried to stop the car. I somehow managed to do this, and nobody got hurt, and any accident with other cars were averted.

My friend in the passenger seat tried to get out of the car, but the door wouldn't budge... so he climbed out the window. Since there was so much traffic coming down I-95, I had to climb over from the driver seat to the passenger seat and then climb out the window as well.

Anyway, once everyone was out of the car, I took a look at the damage on my car. The front-passenger side tire flew off my car, and the impact of the front of the car with the road once the tire was gone created a huge dent in the front-passenger side of my car, making it impossible to open the passenger door and the car's hood. I then ran into the woods and got the tire, and noticed it was missing all the lugnuts. The tire itself was in okay condition though!

Btw, just for a quick back story, I took my car to a tire and auto center in New Jersey just a week before this incident occurred. They rotated my tires and performed a safety inspection. After I got their services, I noticed my steering wheel was more shaky. So it seems obvious here that the tire place I took my car to did a bad job making sure my tires were safetly installed and secure. So yeah... I should make them pay or something. >_>

But anyway, my friends and I were stranded on the highway in North Carolina, and we were panicing that we wouldn't be able to get to New Jersey in time (it was 5 pm and we still had 9 hours of driving left to go) and that we'd need to stay in NC for the night. One of my friends asked if anyone knew anyone from North Carolina... so I said you guys! lol! Could you imagine if I somehow contacted some of you saying I was stranded in NC? haha oh man, that'd be great.

So yeah, I called AAA and when they arrived to tow the car, they said they couldn't be held responsible for any damage to the car from towing a car with only 3 wheels attached. So I ended up taking a few lugnuts off each tire so that I could temporarily get the last tire back on the car. Then we all got towed to some random towing and repair shop in the middle of nowhere - Lumberton, NC! It was crazy.

They were able to buy new parts (lugnuts and studs) to re-attach my tire, and they kept saying how lucky we all were for not getting hurt or causing an accident. The recepitionist actually laughed when I told her we were driving and noticed one of the tires was rolling away, and some other people at the repair shop were characters as well. The mechanic took me with him for a testdrive once he fixed the wheel, and was telling me how his wife is pregnant and he's working overtime instead of selling dope. It was great.

Anyway, I eventually got home safetly... at 5 am the next day. It was a rough drive, but atleast I'm okay. But I just figured some of you would be amused by my story, and some of you might appreciate it, just for being from North Carolina. Also, my tire flew off in North Carolina since the lugnuts were loose, which is kinda ironic since "Lugnut" is from NC!

If you have any of your own "close calls", feel free to share!

LOL, now I am not just a VSC member but also an omen. I am glad to see that you all were ok and made it back fine. It could be possible that someone in SC where you stayed loosened the lugnuts as a prank. Or I guess you could be right that the auto center in Jersey did a bad job (I most certainly did not use my telekinetic powers to loosen your lugnuts).

Yeah I have been checking the site from time to time and I have posted a few things. I guess we all have busy schedules during school. It would be nice to see at least some members attempt to post new things instead of just checking the site to see if anyone else decided to post something new. I personally have not been playing much video games because I don't have a TV in my dorm (theres honestly no place to put it). I have been playing some online browser based games such as Erepublik (which is kinda boring) and Cybernations Tournament Edition (which is a pretty fun game kinda like Ogame that you don't need to spend hours playing. You basically can create your own nation and influence its growth and power by buying infrastructure, getting resource trades from other nations, buying improvements, wonders, and of course, a military to fight other nations). I am sure other VSCers have played games recently and could share what they have been doing.

BTW- when I tried to view this topic before signing in, an advertisement for detroit tire was shown at the top, LOL.

Tails, where at in NJ do you reside ? o.O

But that does suck :( It doesn't surprise me that NJ did a crappy job.
