Game - Prince of Persia Console - PS3, Xbox 360 Developer - Ubisoft Montreal Players - One Player It's been probably about 3 years since I've made my last review, and this is something I'd really like to rectify. With that said, I'm going to review a game I randomly picked up and started playing - the new "Prince of Persia"! "Prince of Persia" is an action adventure platform game that starts fresh from the previous trilogy that took place during the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox generation. It's got cel-shaded graphics, but you'll still be in awe at how breath taking the high-definition quality of this game is. The game is simple really - you're an acrobatic, self-employed bounty hunter/adventurer of sorts who stumbles upon a land with an ancient secret; a traditional battle between dark and light that's been seen many times before, but somehow manages to never get old. The protagonist forms an alliance with Elika, a princess with newly discovered magical powers. Together, they fight to bring light back to the land. ...yeah, I didn't really make the story sound too great right now. I'll admit, it's not the best story ever. But it is somewhat decent, and my description above certainly did not do the game's storyline much justice. Anyway, once you begin your adventure, you'll be emerged in a wide world where you can explore any area you'd like. That's what makes this game so terrific - it's open ended, and not linear at all. Of course, some linearity is always appreciated, and the story helps supply that at times so you never feel completely lost during the game. The game is fairly addicting, and anyone who has played a “Prince of Persia” game in the past will definitely love this game. If you’re new to the series, don’t fret – this installment starts the series anew, and it’s seriously worth picking up. Once you start to run on walls and perform awesome combos during battle, you’ll be hooked just as I’ve been. And FYI – the game’s soundtrack is terrific. "Prince of Persia" is a great experience that any platform-game enthusiast will love. Though the game is short and perhaps a bit repetitive at times, it has the gameplay, graphics, and lasting appeal to keep you satisfied. ---------------------------------- Graphics: A Sound: A Controls: A+ Presentation: A Replay Value: A Challenge Level: B Fun Factor: A+ Final Score: A ---------------------------------- ***Confused about my rating system? If so, the info below will explain how I score games.*** > Graphics - The game’s visual appearance > Sound - The game’s BGM and SFX > Controls - The game’s control handling > Presentation - The game’s camera and frame-rate > Replay Value - The game’s addictiveness > Challenge Level - The game’s difficulty > Fun Factor - The game’s entertainment rating > Final Score - The overall score (based on the other 7 factors) Those 7 factors are given a rating of A+,A,B+,B,C+,C, D, or E. |

Hey nice review. I remember watching someone play the first Prince of Persia (sands of time I think) for PS2 years ago and it looked like a fun game. The acrobatic/puzzle aspect is nice because it elevates it from simply a hack and slash game. I might have to try the new 360 game sometime. |

Yeah I might too, but for the Wii, are those games the same? Or are there noticable differences from the 360?
