Guys, my DS broke. It's hard for me to say this, but yes,, it happened. Let me tell you how it broke, so you don't repeat the mistake. I was innocently on my way to school, when I decided to take the subway. For those who haven't been to NYC, it's a train with more frequent stops. So anyway, they are operated by swiping a card through a turnstile, which if swiped correctly, you can pass. Well, I was in a rush, so I ran through the turnstile, but swiped it incorrectly. So, the turnstile didn't admit me, and it's at waist hieght, and my DS was in my front pocket. I smashed into the turnstile, DS-first. The top LCD cracked. Fortunately, I was able to send it back to Nintendo for repair, free of charge, because it's such a new system. So, I sent it out today, and they said 7-9 business days, but the repair place is upstate NY, so I guess I can expect it a little earlier. Wish me luck! |

Bah! Sonik! Why do you torment the good people of Nintendo by being so irresponsible with your brand new DS! I bet you were the first person to break one, since everyone else isn't so irresponsible. It sucks that the screen got smashed up, the same thing happened to my Cybiko I used to have a while ago, except it got crushed under a chair and I couldn't get it replaced because the warranty was expired. At least you're getting it fixed for free, and sooner than normal too, usually they say like 2-4 months to do it all and get it back to you.

Thankfully this all happened while the system was new, so they could do it free of charge. Eh, well that stinks... I feel for you. But hey, these things happen. You know, Nintendo is also offering to fix any dead piexels free of charge if you send your DS to them. I'm thinking about doing that... >_> |

[Off Topic] Heh, that reminds me of the time I sent my NES console and all the games--including the controllers-- to them to get the cartidges and insides of the console cleaned so every would run better. I don't know if they charged anything--because the NES is ancient. I bet they had to find some employees that have been working with Nintendo since the NES to clean it. They even gave us new NES controllers--that I have never seen before. It was the shape of the SNES controller--except less buttons (Just A, B, Start, and the D-Pad). It was awesome! But then my Grandma donated my NES. I still miss it. [/Off Topic] Hah! Sonik broke his DS by smashing into a turnstile. It's odd though, that's one of the first stories I'v heard about any handheld Nintendo product being broken. Did I ever tell you that time I threw my GBA? I sloammed it down on the carpet about 2 feet inf ront of me, and it bounced about 8-9 Feet into the shoe bin on the other side of the room. The gmae was still playing and junk. Out. |

Off Topic- heck, that's nothing. My old PS1 perchs above my TV, a good 6 feet off a solid hard wood floor. i was playing Tony Hawk with a friend, and he got mad cuz I beat him at his own game, and by accident he pulled the controller cord and the PS1 came crashing down. The music didn't even skip a beat! We should have a new topic for consoles and the abuse they get. On Topic-Uhhhhh, yeah. |

Man, that's awesome, Ace. I didn't know Nintendo could fix your NES up with a better performance and new controllers... if I knew I would've done it. Eh, I'm assuming you sent that stuff in quite a long time ago, so it's too late for me to try and pull that off. But then again, my NES... the console handed down to me and my twin brother through our older brother... is still in great condition. It plays games well, with little hassle... and we still have a huge collection. As for our old genesis games... that's another story... >_> (I must've sold and re-purchased a Genesis console atleast five times) It's good to hear that your DS will return soon, Sonik. That's Nintendo for you. Just be sure to be extra careful this time around, when you get it back.

- Hey I don't do this kind of stuff *cough* Honest! - Well at least you guys don't have to live with 2 small cousins who're the reincarnations of the devil himself split into two but with the same amount of damnation he brought. Anyway, I have 2 cousins right, one's about 6 and the other er... 8 or something, and they're both obsessed with playing on my Gamecube or Playstation2 whenever they get the chance. Now, they come over, together, never alone, ALWAYS having their evil smiles as one and with the same question: "Can you put *game name* on?" every 2 seconds. Of course, I try to retaliate, but that never seems to work, it just makes them go all insane and so I feel guilty and put it on, OR, if I try to not do it for just a little while longer, they start "TELLING ON ME"... ugh... so I'm forced to. Now when they don't ask, they try themselves, either breaking the disc, opening the system and then leaving it open, or, when they try to save, they save over our most needed files and then say: "NO! IT WAS YOU! BLAH BLAH BLAH!" Argh! I just want to punch them, rip them up, incinerate them, with a slow and painful death to finish it off... *sob* And they keep on playing the SAME games OVER AND OVER, they never tire of the most boring games, it's almost inhumane. The most mundane things and they play it non-stop, but they forget everything... how is that possible? So they ask us, my and my twin brother and my cousin, and they say things that're almost alien to us. We don't know, they do, they should, but they purposefully have short term memory loss... They've broken, or either made a system not work properly, about 4 times. The GBA, the PS1, a game, and... my memory card that had the most dear save files ever, with everything completed and with the strongest characters in games and all that... just... broken. They never confessed, they just said no it wasn't me and then everyone didn't do anything... It's almost unbelievable at how my little cousin, the 6 year old, gets away with everything. He's too spoilt to understand what the words "Go away" mean, without him getting hurt and starts to cry... He can't tolerate a single piece of criticism we give him, nor any demand, he'll just say "NO! I DON'T CARE! I HATE YOU!" and then storms off with a MASSIVE tantrum and then keeps it up for about 2 days... You guys haven't had anything like THAT, have you? Well you most likely have, I mean you can't not have any small cousins unless... well... you're the FIRST person to ever live or you have no aunties or uncles. Have a happy day! Oh yeah, sorry about that totally off-topic response. I really feel sorry for you Sonik, lol, I still can't believe you'd just do that, it's kinda rushed isn't it? Still, if that happened to me, I wouldn't send it to them to get it fixed, I'd just stand there and sulk about it and then feel sorry for myself and then walk away and feel sorrow with every step... |

Uhhh, sorrow...... right...... Here's my fail-proof plan for safeguarding my consoles when my cousins come over. Hide the mem cards in my bookbag, hide my games in my clothes closet, and take out the power supplies to my consoles and hide em in the basement. So, just say the machine is "broken", and they'll leave you alone. Never fails for me. Anywayz, MY DS CAME BACK! OH HAPPY DAY! *Does jig on hsu's grave* First thing I'm gonna do is get one of hose soft cases to put around it so it doesn't happen again. Next thing I'm gonna do is for my POTD take a picture of the offending turnstile. Anywayz, WarioWare DS is coming out Feb. 14th! You'll be touching and blowing on your DS like a crazy person! Buy a DS! And a cover! Yay! Exclamation Mark! |
