Yes, in your opinion that's absolutely postively true. But in reality, it's not. Your opinions are blinding you to the truth. You're going to be so pessimistic towards Nintendo all the time, you'll always find a way to turn a little good news into a PS2 fanboy remark, hehe. "Generally disliked" "We", "the gamer", and "the public" don't represent factual individuals. I loved Animal Crossing, and liked Billy Hatcher for it's... erm, unique gameplay... thank you very much. Plus, people who mock the new Zelda are simply ignorant. It's all entirely opinion, you see. My opinions fuel my arguments, your opinions fuel your's. And, in my honest opinion, RPG's are boring. Repetitively battling enemies through a command menu, with limited hands-on control of your character, while enduring commonly weak stories that have been done too many times before bores me. RPGs, the greatest gaming genre in Zohar's eyes, is utter crap to me. The only RPG I've played is Paper Mario, and I rarely play it today. Me and Zohar are quite the debators...

Indeed. I enjoy deep storylines, and RPGs seem a logical place to look.... but I've seen "Chosen Ones", "Ancients", and variations thereof so many times... it's become a very lackluster genre, as was evidenced in the past year. However, a few sparks of creativity arise from time to time... I, for one, find the plots in Xenogears/Saga (yeah, Zohar, they gots dem' good plots. ), Kingdom Hearts (The story was incredibly unique, and deeper than it first appears to be... no matter how much you deny it, Zohar. =P ), and a few others to be interesting. However, I've found myself constantly stuggling with strategic battle systems that leave you feeling like an obeserver over the battles.... you are directly removed from combat. Action RPGs are much more fun, but many seem to focus to much on button mashing, instead of the actual strategy inherent to RPGs.... but, I suppose, it's hard to find a balance. But I'm moving too far off subject... perhaps someone should start a seperate thread?

Yes, this would be a rather intresting discussion to be held elsewhere. I'll make a topic soon... One thing I ponder about the new Xbox is this... will it have backwards compatibility with old Xbox games? At first I heard they weren't going to do so, then I heard they would, and now I've heard mixed things. I have heard for sure, however, that the new Xbox system is planned to launch with a standard, money-efficient version, as well as a special version with an included hard drive for memory. I think there might also be a home-entertainment-esque version as well. |

Sony said a similar thing a few months back; that they were pondering the idea to create a gaming version, and an entertainment version. However, I assume that has been axed with the huge failure that was PSX. As for your comments on the rumors... I, myself, haven't heard them, but I do not follow XB2 news and rumors as closely as I used to. However, the idea seems like a bad one to me... Microsoft will most likely have to choose what is more important; price or inclusion of HDD. |
