The "Pre-member" position is the default position every account gets when it is registered after being validated by email. Those who have this position have registered an account with our forums, but are not official clan members yet. On our forums, "Pre-members" can only view, read, and reply to select message boards, and can only create new topics in the "Applications Archives" message board.

To become an official clan member, you must fill out the "Join Survey" in the "Applications Archives" message board. Once an admin accepts your request, they'll upgrade your account from "Pre-member" to the "Member" rank. As a "Member", you can view, read, and reply to every message board, including member-exclusive ones, and you can create a new topic in most message boards.

Twice a year, the admin will review member accounts and check for activeness. Member accounts that have been inactive for a long period of time without a valid excuse will receive a warning notice, and will be demoted shortly after if they remain inactive. The admin will also delete all accounts with zero posts.

Policy Goals:
Promote activeness.
Keep database clean.

Policy Guidelines:
Initial Check
During "Sweeps", the admin will first check the forums for member activity by searching for member accounts that posted at least once in 150 days prior to the sweep. Accounts that have posted in the past 150 days keep their membership.

No Posts Found in Past 150-Days
If a member account did not post at all during the 150-day period prior to the sweep, their accounts will be checked for activeness.

If a member account did not post at all during the 150-day period prior to the sweep BUT was active in the past 150 days, their Xfire account (or Xbox Live account) will be checked for recent online activity. If the member has been involved in online activity (atleast 1 hour played of any Xfire-supported game or Xbox Live game), they'll keep their membership.

If no Xfire or Xbox Live account is present, or if the member has not used Xfire or Xbox Live recently, other VSC members will be interviewed and asked if the inactive member has been highly involved in any clan AIM chats recently. If they have been, and atleast three members confirm it, they'll keep their membership.

If the inactive member has not been involved in clan discussions via AIM, they will be warned via email and PM.

If a member account did not post at all during the 150-day period prior to the sweep AND was not active in the past 150 days, they will be warned via email and PM.

Warning if Swept
If warned, the member will have 14 days to become active again. If they fail to do so, their account will be demoted to the "Pre-member" status.

Zero Post Accounts
Accounts with the "Pre-member" or "Validating" status that have zero posts will be deleted completely.

Exclusions
Members who are have been inducted into VSC's "Hall of Fame" are hereby excluded from the "Sweeps" Policy, and therefore cannot be demoted.

Thanks for considering us as your gaming clan and community. We appreciate it greatly. To become a member of this clan, you must fill out a "Join Survey".

Creating your own "Join Survey" is easy. Simply create a new topic (title it "Join", "Join Survey", "Join Application", etc) under the "Application Archives" message board, and post the fifteen questions below in your topic. Place your answers to each question in your topic (have these answers follow the questions they apply to). Be sure to answer each question fully and honestly.

After you've posted your survey, simply wait for an admin to reply.

If you wish to advance to a new position, simply fill out a 'Position Request' application. It's short and simple! As long as you're a level 10 or higher (150 posts or more), you can apply.

Please note that if you apply and your position changes from a standard "Member" to a "Gaming Moderator" or "Guild Leader" position, you can no longer earn experience points when you gain levels. This is because many of the abilities that can be earned by gaining EXP are instantly granted to a "Gaming Moderator" or "Guild Leader."

If you wish to apply for a "Gaming Moderator" position, just create a new topic under the "Application Archives" message board, and post the two questions below in your new topic. Place your answers to each question in your topic (have these answers follow the questions they apply to).
