"Viper Strike" Gaming Clan Official Constitution Welcome to Viper Strike, also known as VSC! VSC is a gaming clan that revolves around very dedicated members and a highly active forum, with a heavy emphasis placed of video games. We here at VSC know and love video games of all kinds, whether online or offline. We're already hosting over 100 game reviews created by our members, and our message boards are overflowing with gaming-related discussions. We're also exploring the online realm of video games in great depth. We've played a wide array of online titles and have held our own online tourneys. As our clan continues to grow and prosper, we're looking for eligible individuals who can fill our various positions, from moderators to guild leaders. Best of all, VSC's doors are always open to new visitors and recruits. No matter the gender, age, or walk of life, everyone is welcomed to join our prosperous, gaming family. 1. RULES AND REGULATIONS A. VSC will not tolerate excessive spamming, flaming, strong language, double posting, or abuse of it’s “report/warn” system. I. Spam is an unnecessary and pointless comment, that’s usually off-topic or contains limited words (10 or less). II. Flaming is a verbal assault against someone or something, and will not be accepted here, especially if it’s aimed at the clan or its members. III. Strong language is not allowed here, because it is absolutely unnecessary. Although these forums are equipped with word filters, consistent cursing can result in punishment. IV. Double posting is when an account posts twice in a row in the same topic, without awaiting the response of other members in that topic. Consistent double posting can result in punishment. V. Members may not abuse the "report/warn" system by reporting/warning innocent members. B. VSC does not tolerate clan/forum advertisements of any kind. I. We're not here as a source for other clans and forums to make new members. If a posted advertisement for another clan or forum is found, the topic/post will be closed and deleted immediately. The member who posted the advertisement will be warned and temporarily suspended. II. Approved affiliations are the ONLY exception for clan/forum advertisements. Please email an administrator if you're interested in an affiliation. C. VSC does not support offensive names, avatars, or signatures. I. If a member registers an account with an unpleasant, insulting, or perverted name, that account will be prompted to a mandatory name change. Failure to comply will result in the termination of that particular account. II. If a member has an outrageous image in their avatar or signature, it will be removed. Based on the extremeness of the outrageous image, the account may risk losing its avatar/signature rights. III. If a member has an offensive comment/quote or any strong language in their avatar or signature, it will be removed without question. Continuation of these offensive remarks will lead to a permanent loss of avatar/signature rights. 2. STRUCTURE AND GUIDELINES A. VSC's forums are built on a system of ranks. Ranks seperate Admin from Members. I. Ranks do not determine who can create polls or who can customize their title. They only determine who can access the Admin CP/Mod CP, and who cannot. Hence, there are two types of ranks; Administration and Members. II. The "Administration (Admin)" rank includes the leaders of the clan. These selected individuals perform their assigned responsibilities to help make this clan an enjoyable enviornment for all members. The admin staff also performs disciplinary actions when necessary, creates new clan activities, and work together to run the clan. They can access the Admin CP and Mod CP. III. The "Member" rank includes the gamers and contributers of the clan. These individuals help the clan grow by actively posting on our forums, getting involved in our various activities, and voluntarily recruiting members. They can request new ideas to help benefit the clan. Although members have no specified responsibilities at first, they can apply for open member positions when they reach Lv. 10 or higher on our forums. A qualified member can hold multiple positions at one time. This rank is the default rank that is earned once an individual joins VSC. B. Each rank is structured to have its own positions. There are three positions under the "Administration (Admin)" rank, which are listed below. I. Admin - Elite Commander: Deals with members relations of all kinds. Accepts and denies new members. II. Admin - Elite Architect: Deals with technical issues and forum updates. Creates new forums and configures board settings. III. Admin - Elite Developer: Deals with the clan's visual appearance. Creates graphics and promotions for the clan. C. There are two positions under the "Member" rank, which are listed below. I. Gaming Moderator: The gaming experts of the clan. These individuals constantly submit game reviews, previews, news, and updates to this clan. They're responsible for keeping their assigned gaming forum in order and monitoring it closely. Can access the Mod CP ONLY in the forum they were assigned. This position can be earned by filling out a "Position Request" form. II. Guild Leader: The guild owners of the clan. These individuals are in charge of the operations for a particular online game. They're responsible for scheduling times and dates for playing the particular online game they were assigned. Can admit members into their guild, if applicable, and arrange official tourneys, either via the respective message board for the online game or the "Events Lounge" message board. This position can be earned by filling out a "Position Request" form. III. Positions give members additional responsibilities. Because we have plenty of positions for members who want a bigger role here, feel free to apply. To learn how to fill out a "Position Request" form, click here. D. Levels divide members by experience. Members with higher post counts have a higher level and more experience points (EXP). Your experience points give you certain abilities on the forums, such as the ability to create polls, edit your posts, and customize your title. Only members can gain new abilities when they advance through levels. A non-member can't gain new abilities at all, until they become a member. Below is a list of experience points, the number of posts needed to gain each experience point, and the abilities that come with each experience point. I. 1/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 1 (1 post). No special abilities granted. II. 2/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 4 (25 posts). Can edit own posts, but has 20 minute time limit to edit post (edited posts will include 'Edited by' legend). III. 3/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 7 (75 posts). Can edit own posts with no time limit, but includes 'Edited by' legend. IV. 4/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 10 (150 posts). Can edit own topic name and description. V. 5/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 14 (250 posts). Can create polls. VI. 6/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 20 (400 posts). Can add events to calendar. VII. 7/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 26 (550 posts). Can edit own posts with no time limit, without 'Edited by' legend. VIII. 8/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 32 (700 posts). Can open/close own topic. IX. 9/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 38 (850 posts). Can delete own posts. X. 10/10 EXP: Achieved at Lv 44 (1,000 posts). Can create own custom title (will replace 'level'). XI. Only at the specific levels above will an additional experience point be added to an individual's account. There are other levels, but they do not provide any more experience points or abilities. For a complete list of levels, click here. E. Newcomers can join VSC in 3 simple steps. I. First, you must register and activate your own, personal account. Registration is free and only takes a moment to complete. During registration, it is required that you supply a valid email address. This is needed so that you can validate your registration via an email. You may need to check your email's spam folder for the sent verification. If you do not receive the verification email at all, contact an Admin, and we can override your verification manually. II. Second, you must apply for clan membership by filling out a "Join Survey". The Join Survey is made up of 15 questions, each of which you should answer fully and honestly in a new topic under the "Applications Archives" message board. Simply click "New Topic" in the "Application Archives" message board, paste the survey questions in the body of your post, and answer each question. Please make sure the answer follows the question it pertains to. For a copy of the "Join Survey" questions, click here. III. Lastly, you must wait for an Admin to upgrade your account to full membership. If you've answered all the Join Survey's questions and agreed to the Clan Constitution, then you're pratiaclly guaranteed membership. Simply remain active and your rank will be updated soon enough. Please note that VSC will never discriminate against age, race, or gender. Members of all walks of life are encouraged. 3. POLICY AND CREED A. It is required that all members adhere to this Constitution, or they may risk losing their privileges. Failure to follow this Constitution’s simple rules and regulations will result in the following consequences, as listed below. I. The member will be issued a warning as first offense. II. On second offense, the member will be temporarily suspended. III. On third offense, the member will be banned. B. VSC's administration reserve the right to close topics, move topics, rename topics, delete topics, pin topics, etc. I. To avoid topics being commonly closed or deleted, please refrain from misbehavior and off-topic posts. II. To avoid topics being commonly moved or renamed, please refrain from giving topics poorly spelt, inaccurate, or offensive titles. Also refrain from creating topics in forums which they don’t belong. C. VSC's administration reserve the right to demote members and delete exisiting accounts. The accounts that will be affected are determined by the "Sweeps" Policy. I. Twice a year, VSC's Admin will review member accounts and check for activeness. Member accounts that have been inactive for over 150 days without a valid excuse will receive a warning notice, and will be demoted 2 weeks later if they remain inactive. II. VSC's Admin will also delete all accounts with zero posts, as long as the accounts were registered at least two weeks prior to the date of the sweep. For more information on "Sweeps", click here. D. The members are what make VSC what it is. I. The members mean a lot to this clan, so if you’ve got any concerns or questions about this clan, please notify a knowledgeable administrator or moderator. It’s important that all members are heard. II. If several members believe a particular administrator is abusing his or her powers, they can appeal to another administrator by explaining their reasoning. If applicable, they can also use various examples of this administrator abusing their power in posts, and click “report” above the post to make another administrator aware of this problem. The same applies for a Gaming Moderator or Guild Leader who may be abusing their powers. III. Members who remain active in Viper Strike for 3 years or more are eligible to be inducted into the "Hall of Fame". The "Hall of Fame" was made to honor the veteran members and admin who have always remained loyal to VSC. E. VSC's creed is a strong set of beliefs and principles that will set an example for what the clan and its members should strive to follow. The creed is listed below. I. Each and every member shall strive to remain HONEST to their fellow members and to others. II. Each and every member shall strive to display PRIDE in this clan, even when visiting other online forums and communities outside of VSC's borders. III. Individuals of this clan shall strive to show great COMMITMENT to VSC's active gaming community. IV.
