hey I was wondering if MTV had in the past or either here or abroad released a compilation of the live concerts of UKJ or any rock bands from 80's 90's on DvD or vhs format. I just wanted to know before i start searching, figured you forum veterans would have been there, done that, kind of thing.

thanks

I bought a DVD on ebay about 4-5 years back, it's basically the same up until the Tomorrows World video, i dont have what's after it. Which is a poop.

They're all just dodgy pirated stuff that have been circulating and added to. So yeh i guess it is pretty common..

In your listings though, the MTV Daytona beach thing. What the fuck is 'Give me all your love'?? that's not right. It's not on the one i've got, and it cant be anyway. It starts with a presenter then the 3 songs, then back to the presenter after whit has gone into the crowd on a mission of rock..

I take it this is a typo? From a fan of Whitesnake. hahahaha

Could you by any chance rip it and put it online?

I'm not proficient enough on computers to be able to rip stuff and put online. I'm a techno-idiot!

I guess what i can do though is burn copies for people if anyone wants one, featuring full colour artwork. (Different to the artwork on the above one).
But like i said it doesn't have any of the videos after Tomorrow's World.. which is a shame. no busy bee. no so damn cool. poop

Does anyone have the facilities to put stuff from VHS onto DVD??
Wouldn't it be amazing if we could put a load of VHS stuff onto a massive DVD, y'know interviews from MTV, tv ads, live stuff. Everything.
I've got a video with a load of that on....

Too bad... :( Maybe you got friends who can help or do it for you? Ripping DVD's is a real bitch...

The only one from the Bonus Clips I'm interested in is EAY live from MTV. I got the rest of the videos in MPEG, but it would be nice to have the videos without the annoying channel/ripper logos...

Nope, sorry, I wish I had.

When you figure it out, I'd love a copy. ;)
God, please push me in the right direction
God, I'm hoping that you'll understand
God, I'm trying to make amends now
God, I'm asking for your guiding hand

Does that mean you got a load of UKJ stuff on your comp?

nah, I have fuck all on my comp, my computer is so fucked.

Any UKJ stuff I have is either on cds or dvds

Im not actually talking about a computer DVD recorder, Im talking about one thats like a VCR, the type you plug into your TV...

Thats the easiest way to rip straight from video to DVD while keeping the quality high.

After youve made a copy from video you can then use your DVD drive on your comp to make loads of copies...

If anyone wants instructions on how to do it, it really is simple as fuck and I dont mind explaining it properly.

Aha, that's neat. I thought you went VCR -> comp -> DVD. Ripping DVD's with computer only is a bitch sometimes depending on the DVD's.

Something just hitted me, all Kip needs to do is to simply send the *.vob files (the video and audio on the DVD) to someone who can convert them. I'm expecting them to be around 3-4 GB so a good uploadspeed on Kip's end would make it easy.

Filetransfer can be done via DC or by e-mail/yousendit with zipped segments.

I'm just tired and brainstorming with myself a bit here.

what are you thinking of doing dd? uploading them on the net/ making VCD's?

if your thinking about VCD's maybe you guys should just trade DVDs? havnt most people got DVD writers on their comps now? Its just so much better quality you know.

Its possible to do that but I think you loose too much quality, I always like to use the least amount of equiptement/paths possible. So scart from 8 head VCR straight to DVD seperate recorder is the best method I think to get your digital master, and from then on you can do what you like with that DVD, copy, make mpegs whatever.
