Have you ever read this, Steeven? I picked it up an Mid-Ohio con. It's a 12 issue Mini from 1997. (there's a trade, but I got the 12 issues from a 50 cent bin.) Anywho, Pa Kent finds a metal box with letters and journals from his Kent ancestors. So the book is a western/Civil War tale. Good so far, but I'm only on issue 6. The reason I ask is that it set near Lawrence, KS. It seems someone had mentioned it before, and I don't remember if it was on your show/ message board or somewhere else. |

I've actually got the trade from my Library sitting on my desk at work. It's been a while since I've read it, so I'm looking forward to reading it again. I remember the first time reading it and getting kinda giddy that the Kents were part of the founding and settlement of Lawrence, Kansas. I like the think that the small town I'm originally from, which is 6 or so miles East of Lawrence, is the basis for Smallville . . . . even though I know it's not. I believe that Smallville is supposed to be in Western Kansas, where it's a lot more flat than here in Eastern Kansas. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts, I'll see if I can get the first six issues read tonight so I can catch up with you
