I went to order new tracks for our Tucker terra and was told that there are new roddless tracks available. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with these new roddless tracks, our tracks are coming apart which I hear is a common problem with these tracks. My opinion is that there is simply just not enough rubber on the lug side of the track and therefore they just come apart. The salesman says that the new ones have more rubber now, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. |

History, fiberglass rods first, they would break or shatter over time and come apart. Then aluminum rods would flex or bend and not do the job but gave tremendous support for the wheel surfaces, rodless came out and were lighter and figured it would be the way to go but some tracks did have issues in this configuration. Currently the 2012/ 2013 are back to rods with a different construction, more rubber, heavier, more quality control and from my knowledge working better than the previous versions. Tracks didn't all have issues. Some for sure did, but most often clubs changed based on appearance vs performance as well as lack of tribal knowledge. One person has a problem and 7 people will hear about it when a person that has no problems very rarely says anything to anyone. I'm sure you get the point in this case. It was blown way out of proportion based on a few negatives. Tracks purchased today made in 2013 should have rods. Should be a different p/n. the rodless were 680-0009 for the 200" long tracks and 680-0013 for the 175's if memory serves me correctly. |

Thanks for the information, if what you say is correct and they put a little more rubber on the tracks then I am sure they will do good for us. |

Basically more rubber around the structure, can't see it by walking up to it but it is heavier and part number changes. There were some out there in which you could see the reinforcement metal through a thin rubber coating around 2010-2011 which was a bit too thin. Not a huge issue but just should have been better. |

Tucker must give it's dealers some serious denial training. The rubber was so thin that you could see the reinforcing, lots of low hour track splitting by anyone pulling a drag. Per your words they "should have been better" Now they made them thicker, which is supposedly better. But I keep being told that there is nothing wrong with our old split ones. Sure sounds like a design or manufacturing issue which no one from the factory or the dealers will admit to. If there wasn't a design issue, why did they make the change??? |

Change for the purpose of making it better, but that doesn't always mean the previous was junk. What's comical is you continue to complain to all the wrong channels. Get off the internet and put your face in front of people that can make a difference. Last I checked this page isn't where companies get their info from. |

We just bought a '09 Long Track from TRACK and had them rotate tracks front to rear because the rear ones were starting to show some wear (small wires popping through where wheels ride). This unit has 1500hrs. on it and these are replacement tracks (Camoplast) because the line ticket on the door says it came w/TAYERYUK brand. I don't know how many hours are on these but, i suspect not too many since the Korean made ones were very problematic (stretching) from what i here. Are these the rodless design or are they rodded? |
