We demoed one this winter, awesome little machine, could use a tad more power. Our 92 PB150 has more pulling power. The cab is nice and comfy, tons of room and easy to operate.

We had a Trooper on demo for a week last winter as a possible replacement for an old Skidozer 252 that has a large cage on it and is used for the collection of garbage and recyclables. It spent time in our workshop and was checked out thoroughly by our fleet manager and mechanics who all liked it. The consensus was that it is more solidly constructed than our PB100 and should be relatively simple to maintain apart from the complication of mounting a large cage on the back.
I drove it extensively and took the Garbologists for several test runs through the sometimes steep terrain that it would need to operate in. It climbed well and out performed the Skidozer.
A couple of the Garbologists had trouble maintaining smooth steering at some potentiometer settings mostly due to driver error. Turning can be jerky unless operators are smooth and subtle. The blade control was found to be imprecise and only practical for basic operation.
The Garbos preferred the PB100 for ease of operating and power while the mechanics liked the Trooper.
Cost wise the PB100 was far cheaper but as there was not enough in the budget nothing is going to happen soon.
It was fitted with open profile steel tacks and my experience is that they are fragile. The dealer offered to fit closed profile tracks for the same money.
Using Cat keys is a positive and a negative as it is very simple and convenient for operators and mechanics while anyone could walk up and drive it away as it would be parked outside most of the time and half the people here carry Cat keys.
