Well I am opening my ears to your thoughts! Our club purchased a Cat Challenger 45 tractor for grooming, we will be replacing the (32" wide) tracks in the near future. We have two options for this, option 1= belts with 72 lugs on them, option 2= belts with 96 lugs on them. Both options have the same height and width lugs on them, with the difference being the gap between the lugs. We do not have any side hills to deal with but we do have many short steep hills we climb straight up on. Our trails run along line fences where we have deep snow, and we do not run on the road except for fall field leveling. So let me know what your thoughts are, 72 lugs or 96? Thanks for any useful opinions!
