Would like to talk to other users-owners of ASV DX 4530, our club owns a 1997 and we feel that it is may not be driving or pulling on both sides when we steer. Is the machine able to drive on the slower side or does it loose total power on non drive side? I would think it would slow one side but continue to drive slower to steer, but on both tracks. Any other users out there? Do you know someone who uses one? Our driver tells me this is not good when going up hill and steering at same time! This is linkage that controls Sundstrand pumps and hydraulic motors to each side. If you have phone # I would like talk to you. Maine groomer Edited by mainegroom, Nov 28 2012, 05:23 PM.

Not sure exactly how the drive system works on an ASV but I'm sure it would be similar to other twin track machines. The outer track stays at the same speed while the inner track slows to turn the machine. Yes, it does create problems sometimes while climbing and turning at the same time. One track has more power and is turning faster than the other. |

This is maingroom: Have learned much about our ASV, Pumps are Sundstrand pumps. One for each track and a hydraulic motor for each track. They are designed to be varible speed driving each side independant at same time. We did have pump issue and now corrected. Lots of linkage control cable stuff. Oil filtration is important. Would not mind sharing info with any other owner of these macines. Number 207-491-2535 Does anyone know if anyone has any used parts or track info on these? |
