We have a LMC 1500 that has problems with the frame of the cab cracking around the rear mounting bolt and also have some cracking around the RH front mounting bolt. My question is has anyone else seen this and how did you repair it?

What year is your 1500 and how many hours? Does the cab tilt forward like a 1800? I looked at ours which has 2300hrs. and the area around the mounts looks fine. I know they are different cabs but, what do you think is causing it? Sounds odd.

very common on the lmc 1500 I have had 2 of the crew models and when I unbolted cab from frame, there was only 1 rear bolt holding back of cab down, I welded new metal in and welded a new piece on bottom to distribute the stress, check whole cab area you may find cracks where the 2 cabs come together
1 machine I removed rear channel style floor and put in flat plate steel

We got the cab off the frame and on the shop floor your machine is not a crew cab just a 2 seater. I have a plan to remove the back panel and cut out the rear cross member of the cab and weld in a new one then will probably weld in some plates to the floor at rear mounting hole to beef it up. I am going to add some supports to the front mounting holes and then rebolt in the rear panel and weld it in also at the bottom and tie it into the floor. I am building a new rear bed for it and going to tie the cab and rear bed together and bolt it all down to the frame with some beefed up mounts and bolts. Also have to fix the frame in 2 spots where it has a couple of small cracks. Going to mount the hyd valve on the rear bed with the battery so there wont be a big hole for the hyd hose to come thru plus elimate the blown hose in the cab and oil everywhere. I will post some pics of before and after so if anyone else has this issue they can see what I did to HOPEFULLY help.
