My question is does it have adequate cooling? Since I've never seen an etech powered Skandic I don't even know if they come stock with a radiator; which is a must for our grooming(nordic ski trails). |

well not a great year for groomin up here in westernmass again. a little better than last year. The radiator keeps it pretty cool. I found a pretty cool adjustment in the rear for better towing. basically similar to the way you adjust the rear blocks on most skidoos to keep more pressure on the front ski's. I do have to say the older skandic with the shorter track and lower hitchpoint steered a little better and didnt seem to be as tippy. The e-tec is great and i dont miss exaust fumes from the 03 skandic. |

We have the 600 ACE 2013 and it comes with the Rad up front, it provides excellent cooling. Check the link on the blog for setting up a "SWT 600 ACE", We took the jump seat off the SWT to get the hitch closer to the pivot of the track so it does not push down on the rear as much. Also the frame of the Skandic is really light after the track pivot, check under the frame and you can see the extra framing. Just behind the main seat the real frame stops. This arrangement is working well for us. We pull a 7 foot roller with a comb bar behind it. you can turn the machine around very easily also. So we designed our hitch to actaully wrap around the seat to tie into the main frame. Love the no smell and fuel Consumption, first tank of gas, 3/4 tank in low gear pulling a drag or roller, 180 km. |
