Looks nice, did you weld the aluminum yourself?

That is a nice looking machine!!

How do you feel it compares to past Skandic designs, assuming you've operated them as well?

I agree !awsome looking machine and good looking fab.we have 3 older skandics and my only question is we have had to do some fabing to make ours steer because the hitch point is behind the suspension pivot and the newer skandics look like they operate the same way.how does it steer?

Ill try to answer all your question in one reply

I designed and cut all the aluminum then had a local welder fab it together $40 :-)
then drilled and bolted it on.

A lot nicer ride than my 2003 skandic 550F

Steers about the same as my 03. Room for some improvement. Thinking of adjusting the suspension strap in the front of the track and/or adjusting the blocks in the back.

If it helps at all .this is the only way to make them steer.

Pretty extreme but looks like it works good.

cmarzy - Nice looking hitch.

brsc - I guessing the rear support arm is something you made yourself? If so do you have a few more photos? If purchased - where?
Does it work on the idea of stiffening up the rear-end?
We have a 2009 V-800swt. It's definitely better than the old Alpine but it still has it's moments when a little more control would be nice.

yes we did make them ourselves.besides the bending of the 1/4 steel.I used a grade 10 manifold bolt in rear.we can take these on and off in about 2 min.just by removing the 3 nuts .the rest staysand yes it gets rid of any suspesion movment whitch is not needed when you are grooming.that is the only picture I took but I can take more if u give me some time.

William LaRue sells a kit if you aren't up to tabbing one yourself:

Thanks for the response. With the info Couch gave me and the photo from above I can probably put enough together to have some built or buy them from LaRue.
Not sure yet but I'd like to try them to see the difference.

What engine are you 2012 owners running?
The ACE 600 or the E-TEC 600 H.O. ?
Any comments on them after a season?

Don't have much feedback as I only was only able to use a couple of times due to the lack of snow in the northeast. Good power in low gear. plenty of pep in high gear. A good versatile sled.
Hoping for a better year next year :D
