Is there a reason to use the gooseneck on the ATV? If the hitch point is the same as a straight hitch, you don't really gain anything? Or do you want to keep the goosenecks on the groomers for when you use the Skandic?
Yes we use the MM 4 x 8 on both the ATV and the skandics. We can not take the ATV on NYS forest preserve as per DEC. :ha:

(waiting on a deep cycle battery to run the articulators)
Do you really need a heavy deep cycle battery?

I've been running my G2 for about 4 years now with various portable battery packs you can buy at various car parts stores. My grooming run is about 6 hours, I am very active moving the teeth and tracksetter actuators, and I have never run out of power.

When I'm done for the day I can unplug the portable battery pack, bring it inside where it would much rather be, and charge it more easily in a heated environment. And the next day I know I'm ready to go with a fully charged battery.

Well, I recommended the battery pack idea, like our G2 has (actually, two small battery packs) but the CO. opted to buy a more $$ deep cycle battery-oh well.

Well, I guess a couple reasons. Yes, we can continue to use the G2 and Ginzu on the Skandic (an advantage here) and ATV, but you're right, there really isn't an advantage that I can see for using a gooseneck on the Grizzly. By using what we have, they didn't have to fabricate a straight hitch for the Ginzu with Pindle hitch loop.

The gooseneck centers the weight better on a snomobile, but it'll be the same wt. distribution on the receiver hitch on the ATV as using a straight hitch.

We'll see how this works next week.

So I assume that you won't be selling the Ginzu gooseneck now if it works ok with the Grizzly? Please keep us posted. If it ends up not working out, our club would be interested in the gooseneck. Good luck!

We used both ball and rearend type of hitches on our sleds and we’ve damaged the rear hitches so many times we’ve decided that the ball goose necks are more durable and they’re easier to connect and disconnect. In the future we may try adding the ball goose neck setups to all our implements. Having said that our trails may be more “back country” like terrain and harder on the hitches.

Smeurett, Please send us a photo when you get that Grizzly modified for the goose neck hitch.

Will do-
I'm a little concerned that if the receiver is too long, it'll put too much leverage on the back of the atv-effect handling? We'll have to see-it turns really well so far with the tidd tech. I think we'll also fabricate a receiver hitch with a pindle hitch on it so we can pull our yellowstone roller if needed.

If we “had a ATV” to attach the ball hitch to, we’d be moving it as far forward as possible and keeping the implement and its teeth as close as practical. Keep in mind that’s a whole group of unknowns but our trails turn and twist so much we appreciate keeping the total length as short as possible. Oh and we chatted with a tracked Rhino operator last week and heard a glowing review from him. Our club is moving in that direction.

Silly question. Why did you go with the 4S tracks as opposed to the UTV or snow only tracks?

OPTION TO USE THEM IN SPRING OR FALL, THOUGHT THE SOLID TRACK LOOKED BETTER THAN OLD STYLE DRIVE SYSTEM ON SNOW ONLY TRACKS. TALKED WITH GARY FROM ATVTRACKS, RECOMENDED 4S FOR GOOD ALL AROUND TRACKS
