We have a G2 wit the remote cable and switch box and battery pack to raise and lower the electric rams. We'd like to rig up a Ginzu the same way and wondered if anyone has an idea where to get a cable and switch box like they use. We'd like to do this instead of hard wiring things to the snowmobile or atv. |

If you have a good auto-parts store that may be another option to look in to. You'll still want a weather tight box from a hardware store (as Sherpa Man recommended), but I've had great luck (and prices) getting switches, cable, etc... from my local auto parts place, which happens to sell marine supplies too (technically they are an auto-marine store, aligned with Car Quest). Have you done more G2 / Ginzu comparisons? |

I groomed Friday night with the G2 and Sat am with the Ginzu under the same conditions. ie: Cold dry snow, still soft d=from earlier in the week snowfall. Goal was to get things firmed down for the weekend ski. The G2 I could only add 40# of weight because I didn't have any more 2" dia. weights to add....so I put the teeth down 1/2" to 1" to just work up the fresh snow. Seemed to work okay and because the G2 is wayyyy longer, I didn't get the scalping of bumps. That was a plus. On sat. Am, I groomed again and put 100# of extra wt on the Ginzu in order to pack snow. I set teeth down about 1/2-1" again but scalped a lot more because the drag is pretty short. Packing was better than with the G2 and the scoops and wings on the Ginzu always are great at pulling in snow from the outside. I love that feature over the G2 everytime. Will keep up the comparing as the season progresses....it was 40+ today and now dropped to 20 now in 2 hrs, so we'll have boiler plate tomorrow to chop up- a real good test for both units. |
