I know it happens in Minnesota. Al Shamper's Custom Grooming (not sure of last name). I think he has strong ties with Tucker. I've met him at a number of grooming shows. |

You're probably right. I see him at the shows in Stevens Point and Saint Germain, but I assumed Minnesota because he is always there with Track Inc. |

Al Schampers lives in Kaukauna,Wi. Yes, he does custom grooming for several local clubs in his area. He is very knowledgeable about Tuckers! I believe he is sort of a rep for Tucker & Track Inc. He was featured in Wisconsin Snowmobile News once and it told of him demoing a sno-cat for the military in Russia, I belive. He also does some hauling and delivery of tuckers for Track Inc. He delivered our 2002 Terra when we bought it. I have his phone # at the clubhouse, But you could get his # from Track Inc. Thier # is 952-888-7372. |

No i was just wondering how many clubs do this. I know cassvillle has a Mish do there grooming with a tucker he bought last year. He came and groomed ours towards the end of the year last year when the snow was getting the tractor stuck. I rode up on your trails last winter a couple times and you guys do a great job grooming. The trail from dodgeville is like a superhighway Polcat how many times did you get the groomer out last year? |

I groom in sheboygan county for four different clubs. I am the president for one club, we looked at buying a groomer years ago but the members didn't want to come up with the money.
So at that time I talked to the other clubs around us and came up with more miles to groom, now I take care of 50+ miles. The clubs are happy they can ride smooth trails and not worry who broke what, were to store the machine, who fixs it. For me it is fun, but it takes a little money to get into it. Not to many groomer operators can say they own the equipment they run, so you are the boss. ( other than my wife) |

One reason club don't want to by equipment is that they have never been told how their state grooming program works Once they under stand how they can get paid for the work they do they say
So that’s how the club to the south of us can have that nice groomer. Sad to say that how it is! Grooming is a business & that how clubs needs to look at it! And if that means contracting there grooming out to some one who will take the chance so be it! Plus's for the clubs are they set up a deal were the have there trails groomed with out the problems of break downs & having to deal with finding drivers or getting calls @ 4am that the groomers broken down! Ok there is a down side club members don't get to fight about who & how the groomer unit was broken, They end up having to buy a new sled every 2 or 3 years because they are putting on way to may miles there sleds |

The clubs down here don't have alot of help with the trails, much less having to groom them also. 15 years ago all the clubs had groomers to take care of their trails ,but with lack of help and old equipment it is hard to keep things going smooth.
Down in these parts we are not buying new tuckers every two years because of snow conditions that limit the grooming amount.Hopefully the great snow season will continue this fall for us, a few season like the past will help the clubs with updating the equipment. some clubs around here are running 1970 tuckers and with all the grooming they spent alot of time fixing . I groomed 250 hrs this season and hope this season is better
