I was out grooming last night with our Soucy/New Holland tractor. About 8pm I saw a couple of sleds come up behind me so I pulled over to the right on a left hand corner. One bonehead on a red SXViper goes around me on my RIGHT side (wide corner on a logging road). He must not have seen the bucket on the front of the tractor. He bounced off of it and into a 4x4 post with a trail marker on it. The post snapped and he kept right on the throttle. He ricocheted across the trail with one ski in the air into another grove of trees. He bounced off of those and continued down the trail. I kept expecting to find him around every corner, but never did.

I wonder what his Blood Alcohol Content was......

My guess is that he was around .3 or better. And then they complain when the DNR pulls them over for drunk driving.
Have been grooming since 1978 have covered more than 100,000 miles of snowmobile trail.

There are all kinds of durt bags out there.
Had a group pass me last night, I was crawling on a strait away waiting for them to pass. The last guy was further back, when he came up and passed me he almost went into the deep. When he came back on the trail he flipped me off as he rode away.

I'm sure blood alcohol content was greater then IQ.

Solution .... add more chlorine to the genetic pool.

I asked the sheriff if there were any reports of accidents or thefts. He said no.

Wow, flipped you off? Where's the logic in that.

I'm so tried of people just "using up" trails, someone flipping me off might send me over the deep end.

If it hasn't happened to you yet, it will. Makes you wish the groomer was capable of doing 90mph so you could run them down.

If it could drop the drag instantly, and do 90, now that would be fun.
It would make me feel bad if I stopped because there are alot of good people that ride these trails.
Meat heads like these guy we are talking about will get theres someday.

Most of our groomer operators carry digital cameras to take pics of the trail while they groom. When you encounter a bonehead most likely you will see them again smoking a joint or drinking a beer at the next intersection. Snap a pic of them and their registration #'s and send it to the Sherriff or DEC and post it on your local website.

Also New York State law requires all snowmobilers to yield to groomers. Once again report the offenders and let the law take over.

That will get their attention!

These guy's don't belong on OUR trails!

I usually carry my camera too, just incase you want to remind somebody of a stuck spot or?
I remember what his sled is and what his jacket looked like.

Hey Groomer,
I thought you were going to put a winch on the front and take the loader off for grooming? <_<

Are you using the loader much during grooming or is it getting in the way of things other than snowmobilers with their Heads up their A-- :ha:

Yes, we put the winch on. I've only needed once so far, but it really saved my a$$.

I like having the bucket on for clearing road crossings and moving snow onto highway approaches. It's been a wonderful tool. Yes, it's tight in the trees, but like anything else, you get used to it.
