There is another groomer rodeo going on in NH, the Washington Snow Riders is having one the 24th. Supposedly VMC has expressed some interest. I was looking at there website the RT-01SG looks like a good replacement for our TT (Not planning on doing right now, just looking into the future). At 80" wide, and 130 HP sounds good. On the website I see some pictures with a blade. Can the RT-01 SG have one? I haven't heard of anyone using one, but maybe it's because of dealer presence? Not sure where in New England we could get Service/Parts out of.

Any one?

The town of Lake Pleasant, NY uses an RT01 w/ Marcel drag. I have never driven it but the operator's seem to like it. Biggest probem is it is always broken down. It had to be sent to Canada for repairs this fall and it has broken down twice this season allready. Not sure why.

I had a 1999 VMC RT-01, 5 passenger cab and 6 way blade that I used for personal transportation and not for grooming. Mine was the wide track, VW turbo diesel and had great floatation in the snow. The mechanicals were fairly simple as stated by Patrice. It also had the low/high speed function. Most of the time I ran it only in low as the high was limited on power with the VW diesel. A drag of the proper size and length would pull it down but I am sure it would make a decent groomer. The cab is comfortable and functional. Parts available should not be a major issue but I did break cleats easily when blading. The newer high hp units should be much better for grooming.

I think, but could be wrong, LP had problems w/ the computer that drives the hydrostat. I will ask around but I know they are VERY unhappy w/ the reliabilty of the tractor.

I ran into it last night while grooming, the blade was off, it broke (again). This time it was a hydraulic problem, they just removed the blade and said oh well.

It's be rescued a few times recently, typically electrical problems. Last time it was left in the woods was a hydraulic line failure to the right motor.

A lot of problems for what is still a "new" machine. They sell it tomorrow is they could get what they still owe on it. :banghead:

Thankfully .... not our groomer, it belongs to the town of LP. I know they would get rid of it in a second and move to a BR or PB if they could. They are VERY limited on groomer width, 7' max, because they groom all trails on NYS Forest .

We run a BR110 w/ 8 x 16 and groom the trails in and around the Village of Speculator that are on Private land so we have less restictions.

Thanks

:banghead: DA! When I said replace the older 1800 LMC & BR180 it would be with the larger VMC unit that they have with the bigger engine , but then were back in to the 8' wide units
They did make some units with a joy stick controler see pictures follow this link(http://www.snowcountrygroomers.com/Lake%20Pleasant%20RT-01%20012s.jpg)(http://www.snowcountrygroomers.com/Lake%20Pleasant%20RT-01%20009s.jpg)
The units that Patrice and MtnTopper are talking about, have the steering that is the 2 stick steer  A Don't you know!
