Don't know what type of equipment they were using to groom, wish I did but it looks like the recovery company don't have the expierence of going onto swamps in MN like most of us do.

ALWAYS USE MATS!!!! when something small like a groomer sinks in it, there is a high probability that the rescue equipment is going to do the same if you don't take precautions.

This is going to be expensive!

Not that it matters, but any idea what type/brand groomer went down? What club or organization did it belong to? Any pictures? All I can see from the news clip is some disturbed mud!

Our incident cost $6,000 to get it out and $15,000 to rebuild the hydrostatic system and get it running. Notice the mat road - about 150 feet of it.

10 inches of fresh snow, night time, operator who didn't know the trail well.

About 50 feet behind the drag is the turn to go around the pond in the center of the bog. He was following the clearing of the high line and the fresh snowmobile tracks. There are barricades there now........

PS - it only had 194 hours on it when this happened. We just turned 4400 on her yesterday!

I haven't been able to find out anything other then what we all have seen. It's really quiet which is usually not the case.

That disturbed mud has to be where something interesting lies beneath just out of site.

I may take a look this weekend if we don't get any snow. If we get snow I'll be in our cat the whole time.

I thought the groomer looked really good coming out of the water, like a bath. Didn't realize it was brand new! I wouldn't be able to stop crying.

Crying? When it happened I was more than upset. My wife was trying to calm me down. I said to her "my LIFE is at the bottom of that pond!" You should have seen the stare I got. I'm still paying for that statement!

Oh.......so I'm not the only one who's come back from grooming and gotten THE SPEECH about how I spend more time with my first love (the groomer) than I do with my wife.

Women just don't understand these things.
