It sounds too good to be true. I thought my Kubota was stud enough with the R4 tires. I may have to give it some more grip for the winter and forget about the tire chains. Let us know more detail as to how they are held in place and expected life to stay in the tire under normal operating conditions such as rocks dirt and ice. Show us a pic of the stud before mounting in the tire. I guess they would not help my old Tucker iron much with the metal tracks.....

Sorry it took so long ! The Carbide is rounded not a pointed. They are a bigger ice pick than the (Grip it) ice pick that was just a sheet metal screw with chips of carbide brazed on the head, they were made for a sleds track , some club did use them on there groomers , the only problem they seem to have is they did not hold up well, they were made for sled not some thing like a tractor tire. This Ice Pick is made for use on units like a Tucker Terra - Track Trucks - Tractor Tire. And how well will the hold up It depend on how hard you are on them! I know of people that never loss a stud on there sleds and there sled is 4 years old I also know of some one that not only lost studs on a brand new sled the first time out but ripped parts of the track out stud and all The ice pick next to the small one's may work for your tucker, that has a 5/8 shaft can get weld on blocks , all so have ones that are 7/16 shaft but uses a nut to hold on to the block not the slap ring. |
