I'm curious on how many belts you go through this year. I have read about a lot of problems ranger owners are having blowing belts when running the tracks not to mention the added stress of pulling a drag behind it. Keep us updated. It really looks impressive!

This is a new machine and we have yet to groom w/ it. We had a demo machine last year and the biggest problem we had was overheating. The new unit has additional cooling capacity so hopefully the problem is solved.

As far as the belts ..... time will tell.

Thanks

Is there anyone out there with Ranger experience? How does it work? What drag are you pulling? Pros/Cons. Describe your trails.

Thanks

I could see how a smaller machine like that would be beneficial for some of the smaller trails but I'm anxious to see how it performs on longer runs and over rougher terrain (hills and ditches). I'd hate to be out 30 miles from the nearest road and get stuck with it. But then again, that could happen with any machine. I'm anxious to see how you guys make out with it.
.........takin it one mogul at a time

The Pleasant Riders Snowmobile Club (PRSC) in Lake Pleasant, New York used a Ranger w/ a AFMI LL drag last year to groom a 3 mile +/- corridor trail last year. The demo unit did had problems overheating but when it ran it did a great job.

The trail we used it on is very rough w/ hills and turns and it handled it well. I did not operate this unit last year but the guy's who did were happy.

We received the new Ranger w/ improved tracks and cooling capacity this summer and we will find out how it performs in a few months.

You are more then welcome to stop by and se it and go for a ride once the snow flys.

Thanks

I to am waiting to see or hear of the results and to hear of the short coming of the Ranger[NOT a bash every machine has short comings ].
Our club needs to find a machine on tracks to use for trail work on state propertys. The state won't hear of any "wheeled vehicle " of any kind and dosn't want a large track groomer either.
The ranger may be the ticket but before I try to direct the club in that direction ,I need to talk or see for myself. A salesman can make anything sound good. Talking with a person doing the same work we intend on doing with the machine is worth a lot.
Could you give a rough idea of what your set up has and a rough price? Either in a PM or E-mail if you are not comfertable on an open foreum?

For a full set up w/ drag you are looking at $35K+ total cost. If you are planning on using this on State Land (forest preserve) you may have a problem since this is considered a tracked vehicle and not a snowmobile. We have one Alpina Sherpa on order for grooming on state land.

Thanks

There is pictures of the new Kubota RTV 1100 on tracks. May be it's a solution for your club. Its a real tough machine with a 3 cyl. diesel engine. Industrial work frame and the cab is well finish with A/C ,heater cruise control. Some clubs have them (RTV 900) in the NY state... they love it.

I you want we can make a demo in your club next winter.

How many clubs pull a drag with a Kabota, from what I'm told they get pulled around by the drag due to not having a front diff lock .
You say some NY clubs are using them, who can I contact?
Please don't take offence but a salesman can make anything sound great . I want to talk to people who sit in the seat. :my2c:
