A question to you experienced BR60 groomers and maintenance people. Is it common to lose track guides while grooming? We have just finished our first year using the Bombi. We have a skid steer type setup with 23" aluminum grousers, we are running our track with about 1/2" clearance between the rear wheels, and our tires appear to be inline. During the year we lost about 15 of the 6" track guides. We have about 3 1/2" space between the guides on the track. Can anyone gives an idea on what to do and how to set up the tracks properly? Thank you in advance.

Yes we have 23" track. We are not losing the 12" guides, only the inside 6" guides. The 23" tracks are what came with the machine when we bought it. The parts book shows it with 23" track.

Aluminum tracks preventative maintenance requires you torque the tire guides every so often.
If the torque does not happen, this is typical to lose guides. Because the guides take all the energy from the movement of the cat they work loose.

The specs for those tracks are 20-27nm or around 15-20ft pounds. This is a rolling type torque as they do not have spacers in the belting (ORG)
You should also use blue loctite when you go through them. This will buy you a little time to the next torque.
DO NOT USE RED. the alloy on those tracks are a bit softer than the modern Aluminum tracks. And it could possibly destroy the threads during maintenance.

I have copies from the users manual if you want them. PM me a fax number.

It sounds like you have the model Bombi ,not a BR60,the problem with the inside guides is that they hit the flexitors if the tires get soft or the wheel bearings are loose or worn out ,bolt torque has nothing to do with it ,the Bombis are famous for this espicially if you over load it by trying to pull to heavy a drag with lots of tounge weight ,also check the track tension ,if it is to loose when you turn the wheels will go up on top of the guides and flaten them out or break them off ,
any questions please dont hesitate to give me a call ,Thanks Gord at TVT

I certainly wasn’t aware they offered aluminum on the br60, but who knows. Maybe it was a br100 set fit to it.

The bombi had 2 different styles of aluminum. One was the slotted version that had a slot milled down the middle of the cleat to allow a carriage bolt to slide to the point of insert. This style also had a 2 piece tire guide.

The second was the standard style you see around now. Both of which were abandoned when the cats got larger. Although they did test several designs but had no luck.

What is the serial number? I can get the build for it if you’re interested.

@GORD you lose your old login?
