France v England; Nigel Owens

Another refereeing masterclass from the top ref in international rugby at present.

As the commentators said, his handling of the bust up early on was excellent but the best bit was the head grinding between Brown and one of the French. "Cut it out, you are both acting immature". Priceless!

Even brought a laugh from Brian Moore and well deserved praise at the end.

Superb game, with only 12 pens. Once again, after NZ v SA and the Ireland v NZ games, another game reffed by Nigel Owens has been a great advertisement for the game. Coincidence? Don't think so.

My thoughts entirely, is there a better referee in any sport at the moment. Clear explanations, great positioning, smiles and jokes with a few put downs as well. Night Owns does seem to get the most rugby out of a game as possible. Top class

Another superb display - he's a joy to watch (and listen to). I just hope that his undoubted talents, particularly at man management, are put to good use in the training of referees..........and not just in his own sport. Mike Riley could do worse than invite him along to some of the SG sessions.

Yes - another fine display from a referee who seems to thoroughly enjoy his role. He does have his feet "firmly on the ground" and keeps in touch with the grassroots which gives him an empathy with the spirit of the game, I believe. Two weeks ago he refereed Pencoed v Cwmbran under 12s!! A thorough gentleman and a fine advert for the game.
