Only possible appointments. Jug and Bebek have already officiated games in Group B and Boiko and Hategan have games the day before.

Edy - you are somewhat of an expert on these things but wouldn't it have made more sense if Boiko and Jug had been swapped over. I don't see why any team should have the same referee?

Looking at it I dont kno whether Jug and Boiko are being 'punished' by doing the dead rubber matches or saved for the latter stages, not having reffed the sides that are going through? We will have to wait and see

The only reasonable explanation is that since Boiko is Ukrainian he can't do Russia matches. So naturally he had to be appointed for a Group A match. And since he is inexperienced you can't expect him to take Norway - Italy. So logically the only match he could handle was this one. I think Collina was forced to do this appointment since there wasn't any other option.

Semifinals referees are revealed on uefa.com but fourth officials are missing.
I don't know why.

Additional ARs: Sébastien Delferiere (BEL), Ilias Spathas (GRE)
Fourth Official:

Great appointment for Boiko! He has really impressed me in his two games. Hategan has also done very well. Both men thoroughly deserve their appointments. I predict either Gil or Bebek for the final with Jug having an outside chance.

I have no idea why UEFA haven't revealed the fourth official. I seem to remember Tagliavento being a fourth official in one of the 1/2 finals two years ago. He then received the final. That could be the case this year aswell.

Now apparent why the appointments were made in MD3 to allow Boiko to have avoided Norway. Glad to see Alan Mulvanny still heavily involved

But, Hategan officiated the Dutch on MD3 and will officiate them again on Saturday.

One of the 2 FO of the semifinals will handle the final. That's why UEFA didn't announce the FO's. One FO must be Bebek.

Spain - Norway

UEFA Referee's Observer: Haim Jakov (ISR)

Italy - Netherlands

UEFA Referee's Observer: Hugh Dallas (SCO)

Sorry, I don't understand.
If they are going to appoint Bebek as fourth official in a semifinal, and Jug (for example) in the other semifinal, how could we know the referee for the final match?

You can know the referee since it most likely will be Bebek. 2 referees have left the tournament so there are only 4 left.

In the past it has been one of the semi final 4th officials who has refereed the final and often one assistant from each tie (guessing they might do that with the AARs as well)

Spain - Norway

Fourth Official: Vencel Toth (HUN)

Italy - Netherlands

Fourth Official: Roland Brandner (AUT)

So both FO's are assistant referees.

In fairness that is in keeping with UEFA's policy as one of the AARs would take over the middle if needed

Final appointment revealed by UEFA

Spain v Italy
Referee: Matej Jug (Slovenia)
Assistant referees: Roland Brander (Austria) - Vencel Tóth (Hungary)
Additional Assistants: Halis Özkahya (Turkey) - Ivan Kružliak (Slovakia)
4th: Ivan Bebek (Croatia).

I think the final choice was between Jug and Bebek, as you can see the Croatian as fourth official.

Apart from a clear sending-off missed in the 17th minute of RUS-GER game, Jug has had a very good tournament. Congrats to him and his team.
