On his day he was a v good referee, Super Leagues Phil Dowd, never the fittest, got most decisions right and didnt stand for any rubbish. He has been surpassed by others in the last few years so probably a good rome to go. Timing of this is strange, similar to when Dave Pearson retired from rugby union

Never one of my favourite refs as he always seemed to be looking for the limelight but very competent for all that. I just wonder where these changes leave Stuart Cummings as I thought that he was involved in both these roles and you just wonder how a comparatively small set up needs so many coaches and managers. But good luck to Steve Ganson.

Stuart "left" his post in March

Pushed or voluntary resignation? :badno:

Ah, thanks, Hendo - I had not heard that.
What I find a bit confusing is that both these appointments, like Dave Pearson's last year (to which RCG makes reference in post 2) have been made mid-term which strikes my simple mind as being more a case of fall out or being pushed, rather than just a natural course of events which

Yes, I agree. Doesn't make it sound as though it was planned at all.
