I have a severe allergy to spreadsheets! I do have the mac version of office but :shudder: I am grateful that there are people that can read a spreadsheet without going crosseyed. I enjoy looking at the stats even if they do confuse me half of the time! :youwhat: |

For those with an interest in Scottish matters: Most Games: Collum (20), Thomson (17), Mclean and Clancy (16), Madden and Beaton (15); Craig Charleston has had only 2 games, with Finnie (2). Category 2 refs Dallas and Robertson have has seven games and Aitken 4. Most yellow cards: McLean (61), Beaton (58), Collum (57), Thomson (55). Charleston given 6, Robertson 20 and Allan 28. Most red cards: Unsurprising to see Collum top this chart with 9 followed by Muir (5), Murray and Beaton (4) and McLean and Colvin (3). Only Clancy yet to give a red card. Penalties: Collum has given 12 of th3 32 penalties awarded this season, with Mclean, Colvin, Finnie and Robertson all awarding 3. Only Thomson and Clancy yet to award a spot-kick. Fewest: |

Sheldrake,Collins,Clark,Robinson and Stockbridge appear to be struggling if number of Championship matches is important.Easter games might be interesting and confirm suspicions. |

Stockbridge has a midweek game in the Championship, and Collins had one last week (albeit as a replacement). While Tim Robinson hasn't had many Championship games, he's recently had some of the more important League 1 relegation and League 2 promotion clashes. There's a clear bias towards the Talent Group officials with Championship games. Graham Horwood has only had 1 Championship game this season, pretty early on at Bournemouth, and has been stuck in Leagues 1 and 2 ever since. Having already been demoted once before, it would be a shame if he's in danger of it happening again. More surprisingly, Scott Mathieson has only had 1 Championship game when he's normally way up there for those games. I know he's been injured, which may be a factor. Edited by greeny, Tuesday, 10. It is tricky to tell from these stats as arguably a top of the table league one clash is more challenging than a mid table Championship clash. Interestingly from BORIS10s list I don't remember many of them having 4O appointments in the Prem either which I think is another good indication of who is in favour. |

First,a big thank you for the lists-fascinating.Didn't mention Horwood as he is 'relatively new'[Handley also].Wasn't sure whether Collins and Stockbridge's latest games were included.I am sure my analysis is not foolproof. However,it worked with S.Rushton last year. |

Biggest surprise (other than Scott Mathieson) for me is the other Scott ...Scott Duncan, who I thought was pretty dreadful at Ipswich last Saturday - which shows you can still have an excellent football match, as that most certainly was even with the wrong result, despite indifferent refereeing. |

Based on these stats and trying to make allowances for injury and other absences, I suggest that Scott Mathieson and Phil Gibbs may be coming to the end of their time on the League list. I saw the other Scott - Scott Duncan - at Derby at the end of last season and I thought he was good. But then we don't always agree about refs, do we Nemesis? ;-) |

Thank you. However this seems to be accessible only via the home page and by way of subscription, thus perhaps limiting its interest only to Ipswich supporters, of which I think we have at least one on this site ;-) Some of the suggested sites on this thread no longer seem accessible, including Man Utd, which is imo a pity. The best one available is the Liverpool site which I have found v useful when trying to access refs for Liverpool games (home and away) over the years. |

Thanks Nemesis for the percentage breakdown which helps even out the differences in the numbers of games refereed. Clearly there are very wide differences in the numbers of higher division games but my guess is that most - maybe all - of the referees with very few Championship games will be back next season. The FL may consider these to be very dependable lower division referees. In recent seasons it seems only one or occasionally two referees have lost their places on the list with many of the departures these days being for fitness reasons or officials voluntarily deciding to hang up their boots. |

The Ipswich site HAS changed since I last looked a few months back but I've just managed to get in via the 'Matches' link on the homepage and then selecting a season from the drop down box. Hope this is useful. Ray |
