Last year by this time the official list for the new season had been published on the FL website. Anyone know if we can expect the 2012/13 list shortly? |

I had been wondering as well. Publication in 2011 was on Tuesday 5th July, but this season's FL fixtures start a week later than last season (do they not?). Presumably we can expect something in the next few days. Match appointments are apparently 'coming soon'. |

There were some last Weds, might have been AR's then. The rest are the "end of the month" I'm told but wasn't given an actual date! |

remaining pre season tests are 16th and 27th July. Appointments unlikely to be available until the week before the fixtures are due to be played with Capital One Cup being played before first FL appointments. |

I thought this was worth a bump. Still haven't seen the confirmed list anywhere. I wouldn't have thought the fitness tests would be relevant to publication of the list, as these are just about whether officials will be given appointments, not whether they are on the list or not. |

The new Sky Sports Football Yearbook has lists for referees and assistants for next season. The new referees were already known. All the referees who have left the list were ones we already knew about - officials who had chosen to retire or have left due to fitness problems. Among the departing assistants are long servers such as Martin Dexter (appointed 1995), Tony Horton (1996), Ian Gosling (1997), Martin Yerby (1998) and Gary Young (1999). Another notable departure is Steve Creighton who was interviewed for the referees list two or three years ago but missed out. |

I thought Martin Dexter was promoted to the 2B referees list for next season? |

I may very well be wrong but I thought I'd heard/seen/read that Peter Quinn was off the national list as well. Injury/fitness problems? |

Yes, list published at last and absentees confirmed, including Quinn. I'm sorry to see that Colin Webster has stepped down, I've seen him several times over the years and he has always struck me as a sound, firm ref. Surprised to see Messrs Booth, Shoebridge and Tanner still on the list, and hope to see more of them this season than last. Glad to see that some of the 'old-stagers' are still around including Bates and Miller. Good luck to all refs for the coming season, in particular those on the list for the first time. I look forward to seeing the first round of League appointments later in the day / week. |

Sad to see some excellent AR's leave in the form of Yerby, Keane and Gosling, the latter one has done really well to bounce back from his injury and a few top flight games towards the end of last season |

Does anyone know why Ryan Newman has quit? I worked with him as an assistant and thought he was a very good. I was under the impression the authorities had high hopes as both a referee and assistant KC |

Ryan was indeed very good & was one of my favourite referees to line too. To my knowledge he decided to hang up his whistle to spend more time with his family, he has a young daughter & i think his priorities changed, so he decided to step aside. |
