Given Eriksson's earlier performances, you can pretty much be certain the semis are going to Cakir and Lannoy/Thomson depending on the French result.

As for the final, I think Webb is at the front of the queue but needs England to lose. The picture will be a lot clearer come 9.45 on Sunday (or about 10.30 if we're put through the ringer as usual).
Well maybe; but EUFA's Referees Committee will appoint SF officials the following day, and I suspect they already have in mind those appointments, together with their choice of the referee for the Championship's Final !

Tell me, if England win and France win, which referees will be appointed to the the SFs and Final ?
Thomson would have done the Portugal vs Spain semi, and Cakir the England vs Germany one.

Rizzoli would do the final.

UEFA may have made the appointments in theory, but will no doubt have contingencies given some of their top referees come from nations still involved. If England are knocked out, it makes it wide open for Webb, and likewise for Rizzoli if Italy are knocked out.

Anyway, the French predictably surrendered without putting up a fight and so Lannoy will now almost certainly get a quarter final, probably England/Italy vs Germany.

almost Sure, The final is Not going to referee´s who are doing the Quarter and Semi/Finals. This is Based on the previous EURO tournaments.

2008/ Rosetti, did only 2 group matches before final
2004- Merk, did only 2 group matches before final
2000/ Frisk, Did only 2 group matches before final
1996/ Pairetto did only 2 group matches before final

So the candidates we have are Cakir, Thomson, Eriksson and Lannoy.
The man with the most experience is Lannoy, and his country is out off the tournament, and Long time ago his country deliverd a final referee, Vautrot in 1988, I think Lannoy Gets the final.

In fact, Rosetti did referee a QF in 2008, Croatia v Turkey before being awarded the final between Germany and Spain

Well if Lannoy does get it I just hope he can reign in some of the ridiculous theatrics that he has shown in previous games. There is just something about him that leaves me cringing when I watch, and I think it all looks so manufactured. Hopefully I'm proved wrong and he has a good and quiet game if he gets it, but I'd rather see it go to Cakir or Thomson.

I can't take to him at all. First game he did I had to switch it off because of the constant whistling from it, it Actually gave me a headache. I find him way too fussy as well & he certainly falls into the strict letter of the law category. Wouldn't say he is not a good ref because he is, I just find his style & manner too irritating.

I'd prefer if not Webb that the final goes to Cakir or Skomina, I think they have both been top performers during the tournament. Good game between Italy & England so far, could go either way, both teams looking good & both gk on form so far! Depending on the result will see Rizzoli or Webb on their way tomorrow I expect along with Proenca.

As a Scot I think Thomson did enough to deserve another game, though I'm not sure he will now get it after being overlooked for a quarter. But I am hoping he is given Germany v Italy and Cakir gets Portugal v Spain. Now England are out Webb is the best ref left so he should get the final.

It's being said on another site that Cakir and Lannoy have got the SFs. Has this been announced?
