bmb....... couldn't agree more, once again. Controv free day let's hope ! I have a horrible feeling that Chris Foy will have a massive, and match changeing, call at Stoke ..... I really hope that I'm wrong......... good luck to all the match officials everywhere !
Plenty of controversies and talking points! What a cracking end to the season!!

Cabaye, Cahill & Barton step forward - the 3 of you are a disgrace to football. 3 clear examples of no respect, no morals and examples of what is wrong in the game. Well done Mike Dean & Andre Marriner, both of you handled the horrible thugs brilliantly!!

Bmb agree with Joey Barton...... pls see my post on another thread. About to view your other two protagonists, namely Cabaye and Cahill.

Certainly, Mike Dean confirmed his excellence as a major FIFA referee , this afternoon, at The Etihad.

Mick McDonaugh fortunate his terrible decision didn't ultimately cost Arsenal 3rd place.

I hope, for his sake, that Chris Foy's penalty decision at Stoke was correct, or else there'll be some serious fall out from that.

And as much as I think Andy Garratt got Barton's RC correct at City, it seemed to me like Tevez had a swing himself just before.

After that, well Barton has no place on a football pitch ever again I'm afraid, and Dean and team did well to stop a full on riot ensuing.

The BBC live text said there wasn't much contact....but will have to see it before making a judgement.

DTRv2......... wow three extremely critical comments regarding our top SG officials within your initial three sentences..... opinions or are you really qualified to make such judgements ?
Your final sentence makes more sense, and indeed resonates with me, RED CARD (x3) .........Barton should not be allowed on a football field ever again !!

Cabaye assaulted a child! Pushed a little ball boy into his seat, very aggressive with the poor little lad and was bang out of order. I hope the kids parents have him arrested for assualt, I certainly would if it was my child. :cuss:

Cahill just went to the Joey Barton school of charm & was a thug! Not as bad as Barton but still an embarrassment to the game.

Owen Coyle was critical of two of Foy's decisions today. I haven't seen the action so cannot comment but at least Coyle handled it in a dignified manner. It was the last 15 minutes of their match against WBA last weekend that really cost Bolton.

Thanks bmb for you descriptions....... I will try to view the incidents later. The Cabaye incident sounds really distasteful ...I will view later, but I trust your original comments !

had Joey Barton not become a half decent footballer but did his 36 hours aweek on a building site.in a factory or even as a dole dosser,he would without a doubt be a serial jailbird.that sneering Cahill not far behind.what a ref Mike Dean is.the ONLY man for the Etihaad.

Sounds like you are a prophet my friend..because it sounds as though he may have had not one but two massive match changing calls...especxially with the first goal.

I personally think it was a very, very unwise even crass appointment, and actually, I don't have much sympathy with Mike Riley at all because it was a bit of a car crash waiting to happen imo, which, reading into your comments you possibly thought so too.

Hardly critical.

McDonaugh got the first WBA goal wrong. Could have proved costly, ultimately it didn't.

As I said, I hoped Foy got the decisions correct, given the importance of them. Based on the footage, he certainly made a mistake with the first Stoke goal, and the penalty is open to interpretation.

Finally, and again, as I said, Garratt got the Barton red card correct, a good spot. However, and the footage supports it, it seems Tevez played a part in prompting the reaction by having his own dig. Wouldn't necessarily expect either Garratt or Dean to spot it, though if you can see a sly elbow from 40 yards, you might expect to have seen the build up to that as well.

Mainly stating facts with a few opinions thrown in. Hardly critical. :argh:

I'm not sure what Carroll was trying to do but he didn't actually end up doing a lot of anything in that incident. A yellow a piece is fair enough.

I can understand arguements for both red or yellow for Carroll (yellows fine IMO).

As for Tevez's part in the Barton red, I'm not sure it was a 'swing'. I think Barton runs across Tevez, and Tevez tries to pull him out the way.
