Clicky This is disgraceful, and the ICC have to take some pretty serious action here IMO. Pakistan should be suspended from all forms of international cricket for the forseeable future. But, as we have seen many times before, the ICC will not punish the Asian teams for some reason........ |

What a disgrace. Pakistan should be banned, but I have a sneaky feeling they won't be. Having said that, I don't think many teams will be willing to tour the country now... |

I hope Pakistan are banned for at least 2 years. That is disgusting and I don't think any team will be touring there for a long while. Disgrace. Absolutely awful |

I can see that all Pakistan's matches will be played on neutral grounds for the forseeable future! A complete cop-out IMO. If this was West Indies, England, etc - then we would be suspended, but the Asian powers seem to have some form of immunity from the ICC. |

Let's not forget Sri Lanka were doing Pakistan a favour by giving them a game after the Aussies won't go there. Some payback! This is a terrible tragedy and ultimately, the PCB and Governent have to accept responsibility, but there doesn't seem to be any government there at the moment. Don't forget 6 Pakistani policemen were killed there! Sadly, the Sri Lankans were a soft target and didn't take security advice. Apparently, the world's leading cricket security expert has advised countries not to tour Pakistan. I think the ICC should have been more pro-active & stepped in here and you can see why the Aussies won't go there. I don't think that banning Pakistan from cricket will help them because it is a cricket mad country and their people will be the biggest losers, but touring nations won't go there now. Most have always been reluctant to go there anyway, but now they have a ready made reason not to go. I like the idea of Pakistan playing matches on "neutral" grounds. There's been talk that they'll play the Aussies in England. I think that's a good idea as we are more organised when it comes to security at major events and I don't think isolating Pakistan from international sport will be helpful. I do believe that this is a big moment in sport & things won't be the same again. No longer can sport claim that the terrorist groups (if they are responsible!) won't target major sports events. A bad day for sport. |

I do not feel that Pakistan should be banned as it was not the cricket team that caused the problem, it was the terrorists that did this. How long will it be until another game is played there, probably a very long time. But do not ban the actual players, it is not fair on them. |

That was my view as well. IMO, that would be giving in to the terrorists. However, I think to play cricket in Pakistan in the foreseeable future, and a bit beyond, would be madness. |

If that is the case, then why was South Africa suspended by the ICC over the apartheid? This was a government policy; although Zimbabwe withdrew themselves from the Test arena, I reckon the ICC would have done it had Zimbabwe not done it themselves. I would like to bet if someone from England started firing bullets at the Pakistan team coach then we would be suspended from Test Cricket. It's double standards, and I think the ICC really needs to take a stance on this. |
