A rather ;public slap on the wrist for a group that includes, in my view, three of the best international umpires. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...hannel=Cricket& |

I think its ludicrous, to be frank. Obviously they have to be accountable for their errors, but to suspend 4 of probably the best 5 umpires on the already thin Elite panel for their all singing all dancing new competition is daft and could turn out to be a bit of an own goal... Having said that, its good news for the likes of Asad Rauf and Billy Doctrove, umpires who have impressed me and may now get recognition in the form of bigger appointments at the competition. |

It will be interesting to see who gets the final if Australia are in it. |

Definately, my gut feeling is that if Pakistan and England don't make it, it'll be Asad Rauf and Mark Benson. |

I think it will just make the Twenty20 competition a bit of a farce TBH. I don't think it is particularly destined to be a huge international thing, domestically it is a bit of fun - but can't really see how it can seriously be treated as cricket. It's essentially a park level evening thrash is 20 overs. Stick to the 50 overs and the test matches IMHO. |

Yeah. Good that counties etc. get good money from the large crowds and all, but Id rather it didnt get taken seriously internationally. England-West Indies last night was entertaining, but would rather games be contested in a more thought provoking way, rather than the good/bad luck that you need when slogging it all over the shop. |
