England v West Indies - Fourth Test; Chester-le-street (Riverside) 15-19 June

Well, any chance of play today you would say is remote. Heavy overnight rain, and currently still relentless.

The forecast has meant that the draw is 4/1 ON - so, unless something spectacular happens, we could end this series on a damp squib unfortunately.

Hopefully the weather will clear, but the current forecast don't look great!

Cheap wicket that Cookie gave away, not normally like him. Was quite looking forward to a decent innings from him.
Sydney. Where the sun shines constantly, and the trees burn in summer.

Very interestingly poised for me tomorrow...provided the rain holds off. Get your prayer mats out folks.

The match, I expect will slowly grind towards a draw - I can't really see a result apart from that.

The word on the grapevine is that Vaughan is to stand down as one-day captain, with possibly Collingwood or Pietersen as ODI captain for England.

Would love to see Pietersen have a go at captaincy - this maybe is a bit early for him, but I'm sure he would be a motivational captain without any shadow of a doubt.

Had an absolutely superb day. Weather was good, and a brilliant hundred on home turf from the man who could well be our next one day captain.

Looked a tad sparse in the crowds according to the TV cameras on the highlights show. Good 100 from Colly - bit chancy early on when he was batting with Bell, but pleased he made his ton on home turf

Personally, I suspect KP will be our next one-day captain, but we shall see.

Lunch 131/4 - WI lead by 18 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

The Met Office show the weather as staying fine. I think England need to bowl the Windies out by tea, by which time their lead may be about 120-150 runs - that gives England 40 overs or so to knock the runs off.

Game on IMO - the odds have England at 2/1, Windies at 200/1, and the draw 11/4 ON.

PS - Get Monty on!! :P

Not there today (couldn't be bothered after yesterday, plus its coooold).

Still a good chance of an England win here, but everything hinges on whether or not we can get rid of Chanderpaul.

Samuels gone!

Maybe we don't need to get rid of Shiv after all...

Six down:

England 4/5
West Indies 100/1
Draw 20/21

Quite how the Windies go down to 100/1 I don't know!!

And two odds-on options - hmmmmm!!!

Say no more!!

Does Mr Vaughan wish to resign as Test captain? I'd be happy to do the job!! :D

Harmy has bowled absolutely superbly today with no reward...until now, when Powell has just basically thrown his wicket away.

Famous last words and all, but I can only see one result now!

England 4/1 ON
West Indies 66/1
Draw 11/4

I suppose that a Windies win is more likely than it was before - especially more likely than a draw now! :P

9 down, and Chanderpaul needs to basically slog as many as he can now I think - or retain the strike!! :P

These last two (Chanderpaul and Stan Collymore :P ) are at it again - partnership already worth 22.

110 to win.

I make that almost 18 HOURS (1,075 mins) since Chanderpaul was dismissed previously. :|

Another five-fer for Monty as well
