A report, completed following an ICC meeting has suggested that Zimbabwe prove they are of sufficient calibre to play test match cricket by playing 4-day matches against other non-playing Test nations. Personally, I think this is a good idea - whilst cricket deserves to be played on a global scale, there is no point Zimbabwe re-entering the test fray if they are not good enough. It is extremely unfortunate of the demise of Zimbabwean cricket, and I heard a very interesting talk at a League Cricket dinner from Henry Olonga, the government have made a drastic mess of Zimbabwe, and hopefully something can be done about it. |
