Bangladesh v India at Dhaka; Four players in huge 1st wicket stand!!!

This, I imagine, is extremely unusual.

India are 326/0 at the close on day 1, with both openers Karthik (82) and Jaffer (138) with general fatigue and dehydration. Dravid (88no) and Tendulkar (9no) currently at the crease. That would count as an single opening stand!!! The record is 413 for an Indian opening wicket!

The temperatures (and remember, these are shade temperatures!) in Dhaka are:

Friday 33C (92F)
Saturday onwards 36C (97F)

That is HOT!!

I was watching the early stages of that this morning. Anybody know the record for the lowest number of wickets lost during a declared first innings?

Easy, zero!

Don't know any actual games, but there must have been an innings declared with no wickets lost.

Yeah but I'm not referring to one where a team has got to 7/0 and decided to declare given they hold a lead of 400.

Maybe I should change the question.

By the looks of it, no runs were scored either...

First four Indian batsmen scored centuries. First time this has ever happened in a test match.

Pretty sure that was the infamous Test involved in Hansie Cronje's match-fixing scandal.

The sort of thing I mean is a scoreline like 439/0d. Don't know if this helps the search for anything?
