England vs. NZ - ODI; What a stinker.

Hot, Spicy, and Tastes Good!

Is anyone still watching Cricket after that Ashes debacle?

I'll admit to being somewhat of a fairweather cricket fan, especially not being able to get telelvised highlights here until usually 3 weeks or so after the fact. But thanks to sites with live commentary (plug: Cricinfo.com) I have had an opportunity to follow along.

I digress. I went to sleep early last night after the Kiwis were at 67/5, thinking that England was really going to give them a good hiding.

I wake up this morning to find out England lost by 90 runs, and Ed Joyce was the leading batsman?

Could somebody please provide me with a tea towel explanation on how this team (who coincidently just eeked out a one run victory with one ball to go against the very same team last week) got completely embarassed??
My drinking team has a soccer problem.

I was beyond tired, so collapsed into slumber well before this one started, but I tuned in just in time to see the conclusion to the collapse. And it was painful.

Although I'm a keen Cricket player and fan, I admit that since the Ashes, I have become less intrested.

Simple, we are rubbish at ODI cricket, and not much better at the moment at Test Cricket!

I became hooked during and after the 2005 Ashes victory, and ever since have found great entertainment in my country's demise!!

I find watching English cricket too hard nowadays.

I'd rather watch Dad's Army than watch English Cricket.

(and that's saying something!)
Sydney. Where the sun shines constantly, and the trees burn in summer.

I don't supposed that anyone watched/listened to last night's affair?

Apparently Collingwood hits a ton :o and England scraped out a 14 run victory, to qualify themselves for a first-class ass whupping at the hands of the Aussies in the final.

Yeah, how wrong would that be given the comparative performance levels over the series?!
