Very happy with Madley and Kavanagh. 2 brilliant referees in my opinion

Very interesting set of appointments, I had thought Chris Kavanagh or Andy Madley for this particular final, so wil, be interesting to see who gets that now- Peter Bankes may be a shout, though all of my predictions have been wrong so far for final appointments so I've probably just give his chances the kiss of death . Simon Hooper maybe? He's done the l2 one before. Tim Robinson is the only other one I could think of

Well done to Oliver Langford also he's been great the few times I've seen him this season it'd be nice to see him some premier league teams in the cups and even a trial game if he carries on in that vein next season .

I suspect Bankes is injured as he's not been seen for a few weeks. Have to say, I was convinced it would be one of Kavanagh, Coote and Madley, so a bit surprised to see all 3 get semi finals.

These are Div 1 Play Offs surely. Perhaps it's a SG1 referee for the Final. If it is to be an SG2 referee for the Div 1 Final then I suspect it might be Simon Hooper.

I think Dean Whitestone will appear somewhere in the Div 2 Play Offs as will Robert Jones.

I suspect England or Deadman for L2 final?

I'd go for James Linnington for the L1 final with Simon Hooper as a second guess.

Having said that if Messrs Kavanagh, Madley and Coote have all been training with the SG1 refs, and Kavanagh and Madley have had semi's that only leaves :sherlock: ....................

Coote has also had a Div 1 Play Off Semi along with Langford, Kavanagh and A Madley so I don't think it will be any of those gentlemen for the Final. It doesn't of course preclude them from getting the Div 2 Final but I hope that will go to a referee not on either SG list.

Is Kettle actually hanging up his boots at the end of the season?

He must have one of the highest card stats of all time!!

If Trevor is retiring, then his last game in the middle would appear to have come and gone already. 4O at Wycombe tomorrow so last weekend's game at Plymouth v Crewe would appear to have been it. And from what we heard from plym-Nick, it sounds as though he went out with a typical TK performance

I'd be surprised if any referee due to retire ended their career on a fourth official appointment, except possibly if it were a higher division game or play off. My guess is he will be back next season.

Thankfully it won't be a play-off final that we will be involved in... although we were quite good at messing it up ourselves at our last one... (3-0 down after 27 minutes!!)

Surely the imperative us to get the best refs on the finals. I don't see a problem with a developing SG2 official for the L2 Final. I would certainly trust a Kavanagh more than say Deadman. Also feel Jones and England are a big too inexperienced for a crucial playoff final at this stage.

Some bloke called Attwell refereed the League 2 play-off final in his first season...

He did and had a very good game but soon after that he began suffering for being pushed through far too fast. Wembley finals are big things and feel it would be best going to the best SG2 officials who are most likely to step up to SG1 in the next year or two.

Congratulations to all the referees on their appointments.
Is this Nigel Miller's swansong and parting gift?
Seems a bit odd that David Webb is back at Brunton Park again seeing as this will be consectuive home matches Carlisle have had him and fourth visit since December. Surely this could have been avoided by appointing Webb to Blackpool and Miller to Carlisle or is one playoff viewed more prestigous than the other in terms of merit table ranking?
