Following my comment last week we do end up with Trevor Kettle - bloody fantastic. All things considered last season we had Deadman last home game of the season and references to "deadloss" based on my viewing were wrong.

There are still League 2 fixtures the week after, as well as the play-offs.

His swansong perhaps...? :sherlock: (Happy that he is refereeing a Crewe match, now that we're safe ;-) )

A little concerned that Ross Joyce is in charge of Fleetwood v Port Vale, with promotion and relegation issues involved (subject to Walsall v PV tonight). But then my assessment of Ross, based on his performance at Gresty Road, is apparently not the same as others see him.

If Nigel is retiring this time round (and it's a big 'if' imho), then I can think of no better send off than Southend v Scunthorpe in the L1 Playoff Final at Wembley :innocent:

With tonight's result at Walsall, Ross Joyce's match is huge for both teams.

Yes, Port Vale won 1-0 and have set up a grandstand finish to L1, with both sides (Fleetwood v Port Vale) needing to win and hoping other results go their way. This being the case, I find it even more curious that Ross Joyce should be appointed rather than (for example) Dean Whitestone or even a SG2 ref.

Charles Breakspear (Doncaster v Exeter) refereed the corresponding game at Exeter in November.

This is the third time this has happened recently. David Webb did both Doncaster v Newport games and Oliver Langford had charge of both Plymouth games.

Seems sloppy appointing is not confined to the PL. Don't they check back on things like this?

So Port Vale are relegated and set themselves up with a derby v Crewe next season. I've not seen anything on Ross Joyce and how he got on at Fleetwood, has anyone else?
