Have to say that I am very surprised that the Peterborough v MK Dons match has been given to an inexperienced official in Mr John Busby.

It may not seem like it, but there is quite a rivalry between the teams, and previous games have had very experienced officials.

I admit to not knowing anything about him, is he a rising star?

As ever, good luck to him and all those officiating next week.

John Busby is indeed on of a few rising stars on the National List.

Referee

Busby and Johnson have a match on Saturday and Tuesday. Since there are 40 referee on FL, is that necessary?
All I know is that I know nothing

He refereed our game at Gillingham two months ago and was absolutely fine.

He has greatly improved since Conference season and has been fine this year with us. Things can't get any worse for us after our run of decisions in the Bolton, RochDale and Swindon games. Still trying to work out why our goal in first half on Saturday was disallowed

And despite the one 'how on earth has he given that' moment, he was absolutely fine at Swindon v Peterborough

Needn't have worried about Mr. Busby more than adequate performance. Pity I can't say the same about Peterborough

Showed promise but does like to chat or is it lecture players and benches a bit too much for my liking

Deadloss appears to have mellowed in the high numbers of cards he has flashed around in recent times...

I would agree with that. There was nothing much to test him but what he did he did very competently. The five yellow cards were all spot on. I felt he might have well-advised to have dealt with the early delaying tactics of MK (delaying restarts by nudging the ball away etc) but funnily enough once they twigged that they were comfortably the better team they stopped doing it, so it didn't cause a problem.

I will be seeing Mr Busby again on Tuesday at Luton. It will be interesting to see the same referee twice in such a short space of time.

I have to say that I am not one of Darren's fans but the two games he has refereed us he has been excellant and seems to be showing a more empathetic common sense approach as opposed to his old arrogant dictatorial stance.Long may that continue.

Sounds like the Darren we used to see at Dean Court! I never used to mind getting him to be honest.
Officially a Southern Softie!
