I recall seeing Salisbury Snr twice before at the Alex. Once he was OK but on the other occasion he was awful. We can but hope that he has an OK performance on Saturday as Crewe try and adjust to their first managerial change in over 5 years.

John busby referred Crawley v yeovil last week and wasn't very good. Missed a defender doing a goalkeeper save save and then only gave a yellow for a clear head butt. Was awful for both teams

Surprised that you haven't seen him on the list as he's has had 16 games this season which is one of the highest amounts so far!
No ref, no game!

Yes, the Football League website lists Mark Haywood from West Yorkshire and Mark Heywood from Cheshire. Interesting perhaps that they have the first two fixtures on the weekend's list, someone at FL HQ must be trying to confuse us! Mark Haywood has a long journey ahead from W Yorks to AFC Wimbledon whilst Mark Heywood has a shorter journey from Cheshire to Bolton. Mark Haywood is a usually-dependable ref who could (imo) be in line for the Checkatrade Final (assuming Clatts is not appointed :sarcasm: ), and he often gives the impression of being an old-style 'plodder' who still manages to make right decisions most of the time. Mark Heywood is tall and has greying hair, a bit like Atkinson, but I don't think I've ever seen him in action live so can't comment on what the Bolton faithful can expect this weekend

Yes Haywood and Heywood....neither of whom to be confused with Horwood or indeed Dunsinane Wood. Better hope they don't appoint a Mark Hayward to the National List or confusion will reign.

Mark Haywood was 4th Official at the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final a couple of seasons back and I think, unlike the FA Cup Final, you tend just to get one crack at that in whatever capacity......but someone may well prove me wrong.

I've generally found both Mark Hs fine, although Mr Haywood didn't make himself popular when he called off Scunthorpe v Donny quite late last season.

2 off inside half an hour at Southend thanks to Mr Lewis.

Wonder if nemesis can shed any light on the fun and games at roots hall.

Not really, being 55 miles away at Portman Road.

However some people whose opinions I value, along with even more whose opinions I don't, reckon that was as bad a performance as any seen from an official at the Hall for many a year.

I thought the referee was called A Ferdinand....

Both red cards were correct, in my opinion, Lund was lucky not to be sent off and I thought we deserved something from the game.

A bit more canvassing of opinion has failed to find anyone with anything remotely good to say about Mr Lewis' performance.

He appears to have achieved a clean sweep of upsetting players, management and supporters of both clubs.

One of the more considered comments made was that he seemed off the pace fitness-wise causing him to have to make decisions from less than optimum positions.

He has suffered more than most with injuries, this season being just one of his many injury interrupted seasons.
