Carl Boyeson has now refereed a game between Rochdale and Chesterfield in three consecutive seasons.

Graham Salisbury is an interesting appointment in my opinion - but I think it did need an experienced official. Certainly not one of my favorites but there has been less safer sets of hands at home park in recent weeks. How is Graham getting on this season? Saw his son(?) earlier on in the season and was so inconsistent (in our favour) it was indescribable. Moving on, Graham Malone isn't a relief to see him back down at Home Park. Certainly one of favourites in recent seasons and I couldn't think of a better place in the UK to spend post Christmas. Also happy to see Nick Kinselely again. One of the referees we see more at either Home Park or at away games but certainly a safe set of hands. Great to see on a side note that Eddie Ilderton successfully passed his returning test vs Wycombe and I am also delighted to see Lee Swabey back on middle duties (First one of the season?)

I'm not surprised by Graham Salisbury's appointment as he has been to Home Park and various other south coast grounds on Boxing Day in the past

Yes, I'd picked up on that. Graham must have family or friends in the south and west, or he's offered to pay the expenses out of his own pocket. How many more years will this go on I wonder? I presume Salisbury Jr won't be joining his dad this year ;-)

Tim Robinson is SG2 if I am not mistaken and yet all his 3 games over this period are in L1 and L2. Any reasons which are obvious? Has he done something wrong which I have missed?

Hendo, I suspect it is something to do with spreading the workload more than anything because a lot do a lot of 4o duties when Id assume they'd rather be in the middle. Plus all 3 games are of either close proximities or quite big games so I understand why he has been appointed in them.

I wonder whether the injured Rob Lewis will come off the game at Crewe on Boxing Day.

I reckon Brett Huxtable will be taken off 4o duties with us and put on it or alternatively Lee Swabey maybe although both are southerners.

I wouldn't have complained if our winning goal had been ruled out for a foul on the 'keeper, although Henderson did get a little nudge off Zakuani that knocked him off balance.

I'm not sure what else Ilderton did wrong.

The alleged handball at the first goal was a complete accident, while he also wasn't fooled by one side throwing themselves to the floor almost everytime a blue shirt went near them. It's a good tactic to employ with such a good deadball specialist in the team, I suppose.

It would appear so. I may well be there to see who turns up. I'm not sure that your suggestion of Brett Huxtable or Lee Swabey is going to happen. Outside of SG1 and SG2, Boxing Day appointments tend to be more local unless other arrangements have been made, for example Graham Salisbury on his usual Christmas visit to the South and West. My P-A-R is that if Rob is not fit to travel from Shropshire, Salisbury Jr will be taken off 4O duties at Bolton and sent down the M6 to Gresty Road. 2nd Crewe game for him if this happens. The alternative would be to allocate a ref from the NW or Midlands who hasn't got a game but I can't see who this could be. Two of our 'local' refs - Mike Dean and Mike Jones - are already spoken for! I shall be interested to see what happens. I saw Rob Lewis at Gresty Road 2-3 seasons ago and whilst he didn't have a bad game, I can't say I'm enthused at the prospect of seeing him again for a crucial game for both teams at the Alex.

I am interested because if he injured he would almost certainly of been replaced by now. What does MOAS say?

He had a bad day lets say with us earlier in the season and he hasn't been forgiven. Its like Kettle - he hasn't yet been forgiven for a few mistakes which he has made in the previous seasons.

Kettle has resumed normal service after a quiet few weeks... 10 yellows at Orient today and a ridiculous penalty given against Crawley.

I cannot work out how he drew the conclusion it was a spot kick when the ball is going in the trajectory it has!!
