I believe you are correct, although i have a nagging feeling it only applied to the keeper.
Deadman gave a laughable penalty for forest against Fulham a while back in similar circumstances. Consistency yes.. rank bad decision wrong!!

I have to say I thought both RC decisions were spot on although I also have to say I don't really know the current interpretation of 'denying a goal scoring opportunity' or whatever it is called now.

Crewe's turn to Kettle-watch, I might just go ;-) Nigel Miller travelling a lot further afield than Crewe this weekend. Lee Collins and Kevin Johnson out together at Yeovil, I'm sure the club and authorities will be hoping for no further injuries or accidents. I wish you well  The jinx has struck again. Lee Collins and Kevin Johnson are not out tonight as the fixture at Yeovil has been postponed (BBC).

FA don't agree with you. First one overturned No problem from my point of view, but on what grounds was the first RC overturned I wonder? The foul looked very similar to the one that Roger East missed at Stoke last weekend. Are they saying that, even if Roger had given the penalty, he could only have yellow carded the offender? Bit of a nonsense in my view if it is.

Inside penalty area defender attempted to play the ball so only yellow card not red this season.

Any late changes this week?
I'm personally keeping my fingers crossed for a "late change" on Tuesday.
Will you be casting your eye over Deadloss in person Nemesis? :D
I fear so, barring my hoped for late change!
We look forward to your usual insightful report afterwards!! Nothing much to report. After a controversial match on Saturday this must have been just the sort of game he'd hoped for with very little to challenge a referee. Tricky decisions were at a minimum with just one more foul than corner (the corner count being 15-1 in favour of the home team). Three yellow cards, none too contentious although he made a meal of the card showing ceremony calling one player back to him three times and another twice. On three occasions he belatedly signalled advantage when it was obvious he'd had no intention of giving a foul - I'm not keen on that. So all things considered a little irritating but no opportunity to show whether he'd got himself up to speed since Saturday with the new interpretations.

Denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity
Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned unless:
The offence is holding, pulling or pushing or The offending player does not attempt to play the ball or there is no possibility for the player making the challenge to play the ball or The offence is one which is punishable by a red card wherever it occurs on the field of play (e.g. serious foul play, violent conduct etc.)
In all the above circumstances the player is sent off.

I wish you well  I didn't get to Kettle-watch at Crewe v Morecambe last night but this from the Crewe Chronicle on-line:
"Garratt made a good stop from a Michael Rose free-kick on the stroke of half-time, awarded by referee Trevor Kettle in an awful first-half performance from the official".
Nothing more known I'm afraid.... :'(

Thank edy for clarifying the law on fouls in the penalty area which explains why the RC issued by Deadman was overturned
