Presumably the Yorkshire derby at Bradford is awaiting the SG1 appointments tomorrow. Scott, Mason, Jones, Attwell or Tierney come to mind. If this is the case, it is a pity imo since I'm sure there must be a SG2 or National ref capable of handling this game at the top of L1.

After sending them Kettle mid-week, the least they can do is a top quality official for the derby.

And?

SG officials get paid very well to travel all over the country.

England is hardly the USA!

Geoff Eltringham, who will hopefully get the bury fans' backs up, like Peter Bankes did on Saturday.

Has he been demoted from having a bad game at Arsenal last week?

I thought there was a 120 mile each way limit on FL appointments though, so I would guess that Harry Lennard is away from Brighton for work / personal reasons. That's over 500 miles round trip so makes no sense unless there is a reason he is already up north.

I know they are SG officials, so rules may be different, but surely sending an assistant on a 500 mile / 10 hour round trip journey for a league 1 game would be beyond madness and never happen? It would really need an overnight stay, and that makes even less sense when the referee is on the doorstep, and both assistants are from the North East so little more than 90 minutes away.

It's only FL AR's that are subject to the 120mile limit. Not sure about SG2 AR's but I'd assume they are the same as SG, as they are part/full time.

And even the 120 mile limit isn't a concern for FL AR appointments when needed.

This from the Crewe v Yeovil match which unfortunately (? fortunately :'( ) I was unable to attend:

"While it was not the reason for the Crewe’s defeat, the willingness of referee Carl (aka Chris) Sarginson to allow Yeovil to blatantly waste time from the very first minute grated.

It was bad enough at 0-0, but once the Glovers had taken the lead it became intolerable and the fact the official only added three minutes at the end of the game added insult to injury".

I was at the Gillingham v Charlton match and to say Mr Haywood's performance was below par is something of an understatement!

This from Charlton Athletic's official twitter account!

"69' Referee gives us a corner. It wasn't at all. One of many bizzarre decisions, but we'll take it! #cafc #CAFClive"
