One of the older species in its class, the veedubium westfalius, also known as the VW Bus, is quite the amazing creature in size and ability and has stunned observers with not only it's surprising abilities, but it's variations in size and colors.

Although many view this specimen as a meek and timid vehicle, the Bus is actually a predator among its environment. Using many tactics, it hunts either solo or as a herd.As a group, the attack is almost unstoppable and they will mercilessly attack prey even much larger than them, trapping them in a circle of death.

Solo, the bus often uses different tactics to hunt its prey such as camoflauge. The bus can hide itself in many environments and attack its prey when it least expects it.

It may also lay in waiting and lure its prey using open body panels to look vulnerable.

The rare species of ocean bus uses a very interesting tactic.

Posted Image

While submerged under the water it actually allows its prey to swim inside its body and then when sufficient food is inside close up its panels and make its way back to dry land to consume its newly acquired dinner

As you can see above, the bus is also very territorial and will flare up to make itself look bigger when provoked, this picture is dedicated to the poor photographer who was deafened by the high pitched, 6000 rpm clatter of air-cooled fury before being crippled under the weight of it's 6 point rack.

Although their majesty is unparalleled these creatures are quite endangered. One source of their near extinction is a little known but quite prevalent parasite, buggium volkswagenus, which swarm the busses relentlessly to the point where they pile up and overtake the poor creature, devouring it.

Despite their endangered status in the environment these noble beasts are also hunted despite increasing poaching laws. Officials speculate the hunters are merely after the treasured plate sized 6-spoked "logo" (so called due to it's shape that resembles the name) on their forehead. However, due to ignorance among hunters...many logo-less specimens are needlessly killed

Posted Image

While yet, other specimens are finding it hard adjusting to the new climates and conditions that this world and the people in it throw at them, and are falling into various stages of poor health.

Many organizations and even individuals are making efforts to bring the busses away from extinction with increasing support. Some do their part merely by adopting one of these majestic beasts and caring for it as best they can in an ever changing environment. Sometimes nursing them back from the brink of death to a healthy, prosperous, and protected lifestyle.

Although the endangerment and probable extinction of these fair beasts is inevitable, it is up to us, the aware, and the appreciative, to enjoy these creatures for what they are and give them the lives they deserve.
