..... and substituted a massively inferior version. Gone is the quiet, assured, understated and rational official. In his place we had an inconsistent and random performance and a tendency to go for his cards in the manner of a Kettle or suchlike.

Please pay the ransom, I prefered the original one.

Or maybe he's making a late bid for the SG.

Or he's gone back to how he was like a couple of years ago.

Or he could simply be rusty at the start of the season? It usually takes a few games to fully get back to the swing of things. Not time to panic just yet :P

I don't recall Singh ever being card-happy. He's always appeared to me to be calm and understated, going right back to when he was on the panel.

I hope the same leniency will apply to players who make mistimed tackles or who speak out of turn.

It is, after all, early in the season.

If Mr Singh has made mistakes with his use of cards he will get no leniency from an assessor be it the first or last game of the season. Similarly, law breaking by players must be dealt with according to the rules irrespective of when in the season it occurs.

I didn't say he should not be treated leniantly if he has made mistakes, I was just offering an alternative reason for a rusty performance. It does take a while at this time of the season for players and officials alike to get into their stride, I'm sure Mr Singh will be back to his usual calm collected self in a couple of games.

It would seem that Mr.Singh has turned back into the person who comes to London Road Peterborough.

I always think that it is a different referee who officiates at other grounds than the card happy, centre of attention, non-consistant person who i have the misfortune to watch.

There are a few referees whose name on the sheet creates a groan from all sides of the ground, but he is one.

I'm sorry if this is against the grain, but i have never been happy with a single performance from Mr.Singh as you seem to holding your breath waiting for him to do soemthing, and that is not a sign of a good official!

Hey ho .... another season underway, another very reasonable appeal overturned. Mr Singh's uncharacteristic rush of blood to the head has been "vindicated" by that motley crew.

Oh well that's another £500 into the FA's coffers to support grassroots football or more likely to pay off a succession of pathetic international managers and the even more pathetic executives who appointed them

Well after a 2 week break subsequent to his debacle at Southend (co-incidence?), he was back with a match defining error and 6 more cards at Cheltenham. I think he's been spending too much time on 4O duties watching his so-called betters.

Not the first time he's made an incorrect match-changing decision at Cheltenham.
