Watching Dean Ashton's 2nd goal against Wigan, I saw he was nearer the goal than the 'keeper when the ball was played although there was a defender on the line. At school (or at least years ago) I always remember the rule that there had two opposition players nearer the goal-line than the attacker and that one of those must be the 'keeper. Has that rule changed? |

The rule hasn't changed AFAIK, and again AFAIK one of them doesn't have to be a goalkeeper, otherwise potentially if one had to be a goalkeeper, there would be no offside if the 'keeper went up for a corner........... :ermm: |
