Basically what the thread title and description say, I'm looking for a Italian translator who'd be willing to drop the time to do Yatterman. I can do the encoding timing, etc, just the same I've been doing for Flashman. Full sets of the Italian dub exist on demonoid, and seeded well enough to download. So, anyone out there willing to help out? And I'd also like to say I'm sorry to Windom about that message, at the time of getting it I was basically with out any computer capable of doing anything to do with subbing, and by the time I had a new comp, I basically forgot all about it. Edit: Polish raws have also been found now: http://niedzviedz.republika.pl/spis.html |

Since NOW we all know that there is the possibility that some show (like Daitarn III) are translated from italian to english, and not from japanese to english, I hope that what I'm going to say will help in the future. First of all, the boring part of the story. From the middle '70, and for about a decade, a huge quantity of old school anime invaded Italy. Really. It all began with Go Nagai's Grendizer. Now the bad part of the story, that a lot of people outside Italy don't know. The problem is that the italian dubs made in that period were almost invented and only some of them were near to be faithful to the original japanese dubs. Since the middle of '90 to now we (in Italy) had some re-dub of old shows. Daitarn III is one of them and from the comments I read in 4chan it's clear that to subtitle it, it was used the new dub (or the subtitles). So you're safe in this case. But you wouldn't with Yatterman and various 'Time Bokan' series, just because they (except the '90's ova) came in the '80 with dubs you cannot trust. The list of recently redubbed, and so worthy, old anime in italian is VERY short; on the other hand you have to consider that in Italy there are some old anime sold on DVD and in general there are 3 cases: 1 bad old dub and lack of subtitles -> FAIL 2 bad old dub and subtitles which are the EXACT transcription of the bad dub -> FAIL 3 new good dub and good subtitles (sometimes there is also the unnecessary bad old dub included) -> how it should be |
